The approach was a lot of fun, very adventurous. The sudden exposure on pitch 1 caught me by surprise, despite the prior warnings. Glad Tom led because it's a bit run out in places.

Was pretty sandy and little to no pro at top. Cool start though. Worth doing, but don't expect grade 6. It's much harder than the previous two pitches. Better than expected! The approach is almost the same for DRP, and an adventure in itself. In Shandy the scramble out after P2 is also another adventure! We did the first 3 pitches, absailed down back to the top of 2 and scrambled out left. Gave P4 (or 3b as per book) a miss given the warnings here in The Crag. Also looked pretty weird to get into the chimney — would have been a challenge!

Very cool pitch along the arete with some nice exposure. A bit sandy on some of the horizontal breaks and a crimp move or two along the way. 3 17 35m En second grimpé en tête par Tom Ironstone jug hauling baby! Fun! 4 14 25m Sportive grimpé en tête par Ross Paynter After the bizarre are scramble and traverse (we did it unroped), we found the start at a chimney. The bolt looked quite high but the chimney looked safe. Certainly an interesting slaby move on crimps near the old carrot. Enjoyed this last little bit.	Sportive 130m	★★★ Classique	Ross Paynter
What an adventure to just get to the line. Traverse around into the slot is pretty cool and exposed. We roped up for it. Reminds me of an easy squeeze test. Doing this in a party of 4 takes a good deal of time. Overall I think the exposure and journey on this route might have added a grade to it.

Simul abseil all of them for a faster day. At the ground after abseil 1, walk right (facing the abseil) down the gully. Then head right (there are some bolts to protect the walk here) following the bolts until reaching the "crack-cave"? entrance and abseil 2. Abseil 3 and 4 are straight down. After abseil 4, head right and follow the track until DRP written in the face of the rock. Pitch 1 tricky start on the arete. Pitch 2, very short, with a face-climb crimpy crux in the middle. Defo feeling the exposure here Pitch 3 juggyland! After the top-out, head left following the line of bolts until reaching the ground of Abseil 1. To the left (facing the abseil) there is a line of U-bolts to go up (Pitch 4). * Parking meter has been struck by something/someone (?), not working. Everyone parking on Essendene road anyways

Nice to come back 9 years later and send this! Didn’t remember a thing but really nice climbing on P1, and some cool holds on P2! P3 easy but tread carefully, P4 isn’t as hard or ugly as people say! Definitely a bit run out, especially the second to third bolt. I would recommend a panic draw if you’re short, hah. Mine got some use! Nice day heading in with Ben, Laura and Caitlyn (they did Shandy, it was super busy today! They were 3 out of 10 climbers we saw on it?)

Lead pitch 1 tied into the middle of the rope to belay Jack and Kyle up at the same time; weight of the rope was considerable by the top!! Caitlyn led pitch 2. First outdoor climbing experience for Kyle! Very foggy and misty start to the day, but cleared up gloriously once we were about to start climbing and everything was dry.

Amazing day out with perfect weather and the bells from the marathon ringing in the distance. The first two pitches are so much fun. Great moves and exposure to keep things exciting. Third pitch I was more terrified to break off holds and the fourth pitch was absolutely trash. Overall loved the climb and was a fun adventure!

Gets thin in spots but there will be good holds left or right of you. Leader on first pitch may want continue and clip the first bolt of p2 then retreat back to the first anchor for the belay. Might alleviate some stress for p2 leader. Awesome day out.

Salvaging the last from the weekend, guided by stubbs, got a bit lost on the crux of the 2nd pitch and spent some time on a bolt convicing myself of the correct line (ignore the rogue chalk out way left). Pulled a draw or two on the pretty gross exit pitch. Pretty shit rap anchors Rock quality aspirational throughout Lead bolts mostly fine, one or two odd ones presumably installed by the usual suspect (the SS GIMB-non-stainless washer-RP removable hanger was a new one, and the 'fall' ?GIMB is totally on brand. But its moderate multi a few minutes from town/car so I guess that makes it a two star banger. Manage to toss a quickdraw off the 2nd to last pitch just to clinch my gumby card.

Led all pitches, direct finish. Bec anchored herself to a tree to belay me on P1. The first 2 pitches were easygoing and felt like they should be linkable with doubles (there's a pretty sharp change of direction at the P1 anchors though - would need some thoughtful rope-management to avoid drag). 1 bolt plate on the pitch, 1 on the anchors. P3: good, I jammed a few metres up the crack before stepping right onto the face for a few moves then back into the crack. Pro: manky carrot, #2, #1, then should have placed my #3 and #4 but ran it out instead since I had aspirations of linking P3a. P3a (the direct finish up the slot): started going up but then realized my backpack wasn't going to make it through the squeeze, downclimbed, gave up on linking and belayed Bec up to the anchors. Went up again backpack-free, exploded several basketballs of choss off, and eventually found a spot to squeeze up a few metres left - some cool 3D moves going from climbing a single wall to climbing both walls chimney-style - and some ridiculous exposure. Bec found this pitch a bit too much and I ended up hauling her with a 3:1. Pro: #.5, sketchy piton, #3, #1. P4 (DRP finish): belayed off tree. Some sandy slopers add some spice. Re: the choss on P3a - some of it landed pretty close to the belayer. I trundled the remaining precarious large pieces but please take care / helmets.

Decided to do a quick run up this as the poor weather was still a few hours away. Abseils in were a little gusty at times but enjoyable. First pitch went easy however second pitch the notes are a little confusing, it's definitely shorter than 25m so we spent a bit of time pushing up higher to see if it went further as well as doing some of the traverse. Pitch three was a cool. Decided to down to the traverse escape as weather was deteriorating quickly. Spend the last of the escape in the rain felt more like a canyon at that point.

Day started with a 6am wakeup with Al, Wen, Yim and myself with the intent of climbing West face of the Mirrorball. After a lazy start we took off at 7:30am alongside the DRP crew of 4. We arrived at Pierce's to see that the approach trail is closed to everyone for the next month, a bit of a stitch up for our future plans for Bunny Buckets + Hotel Cal. After faffing around for half an hour looking for an alternate approach we admitted defeat and retracted to the dry nearby crags of Bowen's creek which we had heard, luckily for us, was 4WD access! 15 mins later we arrive to a padlocked gate and did not feel like a 45 minute walk in approach. Properly defeated this time and without plans, we went home without any plans to climb. Yim spent the entire car ride home trying to G-up the crew to go to some obscure crags with a singular 2 star climb to no prevail. After arriving home at 10am Yim quickly convinced me that we should race to DRP to catch the other 4 that had left earlier, maybe steal some approach beta. Upon arriving we spotted Michael's car and assumed they must be close to finishing and we might catch them on the way out. We stumbled to the wrong cliffs at first, but luckily it was only a short walk to the right place. The raps and chimney traverse went without a hitch. Definitely weren't game to free solo the sopping wet chimney, and the final rap was certainly far shorter than 40m. Until this point we hadn't heard anything from the other party until we turned the final corner to see Marty 2 bolts up pitch 1... Over 4 hours after leaving the house. I led up pitch 1 and immediately had to sit as I couldn't read the second move, past this was pretty cruisy but the exposure certainly got the heartrate up. After Marty announcing a spicy first clip, Yim immediately found a kneebar, toehook clipping combo to showoff in style. Pitch two, as per the description was full of funnel web dodging in all the best holds on the crux section. The sun absolutely blasted us on the third pitch, but the excellent climbing on ironstone rails made it bearable, aside from the crumbly choss pile that makes up every rock on the top out of pitch 3. The top belay on the top of pitch 3 was awful and needed some extension over the lip to make it safe. The traverse to pitch 4 was absolutely disgustingly wet and scarier than any climbing that day, especially after almost pulling off a moss covered jug with 10m of space below me. After the crew yelled out that the final pitch was far harder than 14 and offering us a top rope finale, which Yim was disgusted by and insisted on leading the pitch in his approach shoes and calling it easy. I then proceeded to kick off a microwave sized footer, a bit of a trend this trip @Kylan. All in all a successful day out!

Amazing climbing, amazing views. We got lost on the decent. After first rap and heading south, you need to follow traverse at the height of the ringbolt to get to the off-width. p1 - cruise control, there are some run out draws. p2 - careful of spiders in the pockets. p3 - enjoy the exposure, mantling the top was euphoric. p4 - If p1 and p2 are 19 then p4 is not 14.
