Ascensions dans Bulahdelah par Vanessa Wills

Just the back half via alt start into cave and onwards. Did it clean to last bolt second go, but hadn’t refreshed memory as to the last moves on first go due to heinous rope drag so fell victim to the Booladelah factor. Nice to be back here, but the rock is so sharp!

Rpt. Couldn’t make bolts wobble but the glue looks like polyester (101) which should no longer be used as life is only 20 years which is what these would be close to

2 goes, one sit second go when I forgot the sequence. Painful, really needs anchors

Places were dripping that I’ve never seen drip, but this was not too spoogy considering. 2 laps.

Was surprised to feel so strong on this, placing draws as haven’t done steep stuff for ages

Decided it felt easy on the first burn but the skin didn’t like it, then got super pumped on the send go after taping up.Thankful for the plonka rest.

I think the short person beta will be to jump, I think the sneaky crimp I used in past times has gone.

Too much jamming and not enough crimping in the last month.

Nice climbing at start, the short will find the second bolt tricky to clip.a good addition

Just guessing at grade. It is a nice position, and may clean up with traffic, and provides another warmup option which is all good.

Rpt, cleaning. Some ok parts but the rock just doesn’t inspire confidence up high.

Rpt, I think it’s cleaned up a bit with traffic, climbed nicely now.

A couple more goes. I may have a viable way to counteract the reach with a right knee bar and an intermediate. A bouldery route.

2 more laps to last bolt. Wet up top. Clean from toast crux to half way across traverse when my foot got stuck. Lucys knee bar pads are great!

More laps trying to get fit enough to link one day....

A brief session last week and one today. Just working from the crux of toast to start of traverse. If I’m ever going to get this, then it should be this year with Lucy and Mel. Have to work those knee bars.

The overlap bit is good.

Rpt, I quite liked this, tricky start, good to sandbag myself

FFA. Gear not too bad, nice bridging.

Battled through cobwebs and dirt. Then seconded to get draws off. Kind of fun, need to come back.

It's hard to get a bad route at Bulahdelah, but this is one, the retro bolt hasn't made it any better, just less scary.

Hard to grade, but is quite overhung at start so bouldery to get into.

Climbs ok but rock doesn't inspire pulling hard

Nice send by John, easier with chalk on holds. Top bit is good, you just have to get there
