Hasty climb out

Surprises of several kinds toward the end keep one on ones toes and fingers - good stuff! Applause to Ziggy for holding on to the onsight!

Think it drops a grade up the arete, but still pumpy. Not the best warmup

Short easy trad line with good pro, a few nice moves and a great view - what's not to like? Almost sad there was no place for the Big Fella (BD#5).

Well put together classic sport climb with unquestionably the best photo opportunity of cliffs and Australian beaches in Sydney.

The only problem with this climb is it’s too short!

Pretty easy for a flared corner. Plenty of mid size pro if one wanted to lead.

Couple of moves down below then very easy angled slab - could almost walk down it as a descent route.

Had several goes before cracking it again - hard to get up to the flake.

Harder than on lead for some reason.

Easier once I remembered the moves.

Lovely slab moves up a pure arete - don't stray on to the face. Guess your hard core grit climber would extend the pro from the wall break, and use the one cam slot at 6m.

Really nice.

Did the broken corner variation, about grade 10, as no block anchor above cracks. Could lead if one wanted to, but does not seem much point.

Any grunt up an off-width is a good grunt.

Our persons and equipment were almost crushed by the unfortunate crowds of selfie-destructives.

Not a bad little corner as corners are estimated.

Trended right to arete. Ran out of gas and took a pause before completion of task. Straight up the wall is probably a bit harder.

A wall with a few neat problems to solve. Back with cams and proper nads next time.

Easy climbing, too short really but a bit of fun mantling to top.

Layback turned out to be key, a bit unpleasant, high mantle finish. Belay at top a fiddle.

Neither the name nor the experience merits the excursion, unless one is satisfied with a few moments of average-desperate jamb-thrutching, a soupcon of frantic laybacking on blackened roundedness, and a final neck-high haulout. Solid stoppers and hexes, however, for those who like their Old School well and truly well done. But save a few for the belay.

Got racked and pumped up but was singularly discouraged by the Acoylte's apprehension that the only possible means of ascent to avoid disturbing stacked sheets of honeycombed cheese was "by waving your hands". Added to which a displeasing #mankycarrot on the headwall, observed to be sticking out a good 2 inches in the old measure, and bent downward to boot, cast a thin shadow of deep uncertainty over the proceedings.

Short but sweet. Just a few good moves on the corner, then over an easy roof.

Looked good, but too hard to pull up on a slopy thing and a crimp with zero for the feet. Great lumps obviously torn off by previous ascentionists, with more possible.

Whip up to first major holds, thin on the way up to easy top out.

Easy slab climbing.

Clean crack leads into blank headwall, deviating left offers holds.

No shortage of quality hands and feet, quick decisive moves, great view from top.

What may have passed as fun in the 80s is now post-punk passe. Clipped the poxy corroded carrot in desperation anyway and was glad summit at hand and belayer not under the fall line. At least the belay was solid and view exceptional.

Tore off a handhold which at least clarified the potential means of ascent.

Looked good, felt good, should have gone for it straight up instead of toproping.

Fun gymnastics! Solid leg bar at base then edge and face hauling without too much pump. Not entirely sure this is the described route, as not marked and has new stainless carrots.
