Felt much less desperate the second time around. Still exhausting and I once again didn't climb the passage at the bolt completely on the inside of the chimney.

This route teached me a lesson or two. When it's cold, dark and water is drippling at you, Raketenriss is there and so are you.

Unforeseen events lead to me climbing this great chimney today. Most people would probably think I'm crazy for giving this a "classic" rating, but it was fantastic Type 2 fun. Didn't have any gear with me except slings, so I threw in a knotted sling before the second bolt, where things get interesting. Once you're in the crack, you don't want to get out any more, but around the second bolt, it's quite narrow, so I had to climb back out and in again (ymmv). The rest is pure chimney fun; you can hardly move, let alone fall. Not really difficult, but truly exhausting.
