Descrição

One of nearest bouldering areas to the CBD, used for decades by office workers and locals as a training venue. Comprised of two sections, the main section is on the road side next to the overhead walkway and has the only mapped routes, the secondary section overlooks the Wharf and water. The rock quality is crumbly limestone, it usually requires a good brushing after rain. The long traverse is a fun pump and there are various contrived up problems along the wall as well. If you are brave you can even top out onto the stone wall - take care! The base of this wall is lovely green grass so you don't need a bouldering matt unless you are going up high.

"A vertical wall which is the remains of a disused quarry can be found on the western side of Woolloomooloo Bay at Finger Wharf. Developed by Peter Balint and Mike Myers in the late 80's" - .sydneyrockies.org.au

Powerful and continuous 30m traverse starting from the ledge, following the lower crack line (and a few chipped-in holes) and finishing near the far right corner.

Grassy landing, no crashpad required.

bit sandy just at the moment but worth tickling with a brush. Good to get a lunchtime pump going. Pretty good in both directions.

FA: ages ago probably

Obvious route in the middle of the Finger Wharf wall use the crack to start. If topping out be careful, crash pad suggested for safety.

A quick way up in the middle of the wall, good to use if you are breaking the traverse into sections.

Below hanging tree roots, there are some old chiseled holds, follow these up. If topping out take care and take a mat as it's high.

At the right end of wall is an arête. Climb up the left side of this to top out.

Climb up the right side of arête then traverse right across wall without using top or large ledge just above ground

Just around the corner is a little arete. Start on a sloping ledge and then climb the arete. The final top out has not yet been done (No mat!). This is in the secondary area overlooking the water.
