Bit off a bit more than I could chew here. Original plan was to try Vladaharama but I bailed because the first 5 meters were crumbly and scary, so decided to try Avalanche Debris, 'cause the rock looked more solid and the gear looked good. Got scared about a 3rd of the way up and zipped up the crack (resting on almost every bit of gear). The mental energy was drained by the time I got to the top roof crack of Avalanche Debris and the bolts for the Zone d'Avalanche were looking pretty appealing. Took a couple of good traversey whips (with requisite whimper) going first to second bolt on but the rest was pretty cruisy and I was relieved to be back on (spacey) bolts. Cleaning was a bit of a faff because in my state of grippedness I'd punched a few cams deep into the crack. All in all, a great (and unexpected) adventure - haven't been that scared in ages

So close to the flash! Fatigue claimed me right at the last draw. Got it 2nd go with a few grunts & groans. Took a third lap for good measure. Definitely one of the best lines that I've climbed at Wye Creek & I've climbed 100 (as of today).

Tough 23, but probably the best I've tried so far. You get all types of hold in a single route, from crimps to slopers, via some pockets and even a small crack where you can "hand jam"! Super cool a must do!!!

Nice climb, big moves on big olds then weird mantle. I fall on the mantle at the end on the flash go, it took me too much time to figure out what to do, but got it on the 2nd go.

SendSei at last!!! My longest project by a country mile with nearly 10 sessions and countless attempts; the route climbs so incredibly well I couldn't help but keep coming back for it. Had to dig deep and fight for it in the end, somehow held on and didn't let go! Shout out to Chris Hailey for the extra psych and photos/video.

3rd go should have been 2nd. Fingers freezing up and bicep cramps are a good excuse right? Other than the cold Connies this line is one of the best 25s Ive done in NZ had to battle for it at the end of the long day!!! Mint line, would recommend to techy face climbers!!!

Showing Andrew Boere all the holds and committing moves for his flash (which he got! 🔥🔥) - and being the "gear gun" (putting up 1 single draw cuz the rest is perma geared 🤣) Felt SO much stronger and better on this than last year, although I was knackered and it was COOKING ☀️🙅🏽‍♀️ and humid af in the arvo so I powered out fast.... PLUS... I NEED to work hard on resting better on overhangs (I mean, jug city on this route so perfect practice!) Follow the advice of James, Zane, and Andrew. I rush off resting holds because I fail to believe I will get anything back but I NEED to shake out that lactic acid and BREATHE like a motherfucker - BE MORE PATIENT, GIRL 🤘🏼

Third tie in. Hang dog highpoint Managed to get to the jugs on the lip and pull up to sight the anchor for the first time. The mantle looks pretty inviting but it was soaking so dropped back down to 7th bolt.

4th tie in overall. Clipped 4th bolt clean from the ground for new high point. Then hung at 4th and 5th bolts on the way to 7th bolt clipping stance. Lowered after that as top was wet.

Put the gear on. No chance of sending because one key hold and several key footholds were soaking wet. I could see it was wet from the ground but wanted to believe I could somehow climb around the soaked rock in the middle if the route. No such luck

Couldn't get to the anchor today as the top was soaking wet after 3 days rain 🌧 BUT the rest was dry (& thank you perma-gear!) and I easily got my 4th bolt high point (albeit a bit embarrassing because I definitely had the juice to get to the 5th bolt cleanly too but I'd surprised myself with how smooth that whole sequence is for me suddenly and so I just didn't go for it, arrrgh 😤😓😖 Still working on that headgame, I guess! Anyway, everything is dialed to the last bolt before the anchor. Will work that last bit, the pullover out of the roof, when it dries!

First go. Clipped all the bolts and the anchor from clipping positions except I lazily grabbed one quickdraw after putting it in. Found all the moves after a bit of sweat. I should come back and send this. It was really dirty with a chalky substance everywhere and quite hard to clean.

Second go. Hang-dogged to 7th (and last) bolt. This was to just below the lip. I didn't have enough power or beta to get to the jugs over the lip. But happy with this for my second go on a route that is very much my anti-style.
