Ascensions de Velvet Morning

Fell with three bolts to the top and then again at the roof at the last bolt. pretty happy with this effort on my first enduro route since China, but have a long way to get back to that fitness.

Made some good links of the first half but it could be a long term project. A lot of climbing for a boulderer.

Such a good climb, easily one of the best in the state!

Not quite to the top bailed cause we got tired just before the roof. Best 26 I've tried likely hard for the grade

x2, peeled off at the bolt below the roof on my second shot. Honestly one of the best, if not THE best, single pitches of climbing I've ever done on the most gorgeous rock. Steep pumpy start followed by an oh-so-delicate slab and a lil boulder through the roof to finish off. I will so be back, two days here is not enough

Something to come back for when I work out what endurance is.

3 laps, moves feel good. final lap had 3 sits and two were at the no hands rests. Will have some propper attempts next session

Andrew had a rope on it and kindly offered me a turn. It was a delight, with classy but not-too-tricky moves and a lot of pump

Superb technical face climb with a steep crack at the first couple of meters and exciting boulder problem on the roof. Definitely one of the hardest and more complex line at the grade I ever try, world-class level. Amazing way to finish the holidays ❤️🤯 (3)

the best and hardest 26 i’ve done. it’s been a long time since i’ve emptied both the physical and emotional tank so thoroughly on a burn and i’m very glad it worked out because i was not prepared for another lap. stratospherically hyper classic! five goes total.

freaking nails! three goes and i got spanked the whole time. far out.

I struggled alot with this at first! Uber sustained amazing climbing.

Very hard and demanding, with amazing moves. Gonna take some time and will to do.

Worked my way up trying the moves. Can do all the moves on the steep section, but doubt Id be fit enough to link them. Stunningly good climbing. Even get to deadpoint to a fingerlock. Sweet.

Sent on second try of the weekend, after falling off above the roof on the first try!

Awesome! 3rd shot today. 6th shot this trip. 7th total. 1st shot today I fell off a move down low, then linked to the top. 2nd shot I fell off the same move down low, and this time decided to dial it into submission. 3rd shot I sent it packing at 8pm (having been climbing since 9am) for the hard fought but well-executed tick. This climb is a lot of effort, but damn is it worth it. Sorry Jenga, Skank-tail and Wendy are gone, but Barney is still around.

3 shots today. The first was an alzheimer's onsight attempt which became a bit of a mission, the 2nd shot was with 2 falls, and the third was a tired disaster. A spectacular unrelenting technical test piece and very solid at the grade. Grade 24 sequences stacked back to back the entire length, with a V3 boulder problem rooflet to gain the anchor. A true megaclassic.

Brilliant and beautiful. Open-hand side-pulling and extreme body-positions a-plenty throughout the entiry of this aesthetic, technical, right-leaning seam-feature. I climbed well on the flash but made a mistake at the 5th bolt and fell, and it took a few falls to turn the lip of the roof at the top. I hope I can get back here for another shot... this beauty begs to be climbed. For the puzzle-solving, technical-minded connoisseur.

I wasn't expecting much from myself but after climbing clean through the steep crack start and keeping calm on the thin/funky face I found myself under the roof resting for the finally boulder. With a scream that would have made Ondra proud I topped the route :0 Happy days..
