Ascensions dans The Cathedral

A strange one. Great burly start. Friction slab is imposing and the route finding is possibly the bigger challenge. We found left of the penultimate bolt to be the way to go.

started up vitez for a warmup, and then got real curious about this wall. this climb, like many of its neighbours, is fantastic!

Finally laid to rest. Farewell my good friend. You will be missed.

I have never pulled the direct 23 move (despite my prior crag logs - they were all the stem version). But then the smackdown began. Can never have too many wins a Cathedral.

However worth noting I used the flake to the right of the bolts but no stemming across fat crack, but the guidebook and crag mention staying left of the bolts for the 23. Anyone know something about this?

thuggy start with delightful risk of ledge splat - would not recommend the full experience as I did not find the second clip super straightforward. But the top section was delightfully delicate and everything I have ever dreamed of!

What an awesome line! Almost pumped out after sticking the crux move, but held on and eased through the slabby top section. The top section is clean at the moment, get on it!

Pretty sick climbing!

Was breezing up and feeling great until the crux moves. Tried a few ways, but ended up breaking a small chip off a foothold (still plenty of it left, and not sure how useful it is). Bailed soon after.

What an awesome experience! Never done a chimney before, definitely did some interesting moves in there!

Warm up repeat

Redemption send after getting spanked by this one a few years ago. Was suprisingly fun once I got into the slab mindset.

Flashed up to the first anchor, then spent some time trying a deadpoint move to the second anchor bolts. Seems like a pretty hefty jump in difficulty for the last move.

Awesome climbing, though I spooked myself pretty high above the first draw, and wasn't in the right headspace for the remainder of the climb.

Easy but pretty terrifying. First time climbing something of this style and it was certainly an experience. Definitely worth a try

so many mixed emotions in this chimney. i have never wanted to cry on a climb more. cheers to the lovely pair that took photos and pushed us to send it. bruised knees + popped shoulders + questionable runouts + anxious sweat from the dank crag = joao breaking his neck for me for an hour. wacky indeed. still recovering.

Got so gassed on the first attempt but pushed quickly through on the next, big rest just b4 the anchors and got the clips. Fantastic technical climbing

Excellent climbing and a whole lotta fun. Bottom flake is a little burly, but the rest of the climb is very enjoyable.
