Ascensions dans Treusteiner Wand

Probably the best 8 at the wall. Everything's solid, even though it looks different from below. Must do.

Could neither reach, nor clip the second bolt. Crazy hard moves.

A bit inhomogeneous, but good warmup.

Nice face climb with pockets and crimps.

Scary moves in the slab, but managed when going to the right at the last bolt.

Physical (and excellent) moves at the beginning. Did not feel hard anymore in the third try. I climbed it with the first three bolts pre-clipped which, in retrospect, might not have been necessary. While there is ground fall potential for the first four bolts if you fall while clipping, the clipping positions are actually not too bad. A bit spicy in the onsight, though.

Last route of the day.

Still a difficult initial part, but not as hard as in Schmetterlingseffekt. Very nice route.

The guidebook says 9-/9 but I didn't find a solution for the upper part of the initial boulder when you have to get your feet above the bulge. So 9+ might well fit better.

Unfortunately wetter than it looked from the ground. Had to fight quite a bit to get over the middle section. We set up belay on the big ledge and tried the layback finish. Climbed the 6+ part successfully, then instead of bailing out to the left, which was the original line, it's now possible to go to the top (the finish of "Schmetterlingseffekt"), but that section is so much harder than anticipated, so I stopped at the last bolt.

Remarkable, straight crack line with the crux at the start; after clipping the second bolt, it's brilliant crack climbing with lots of laybacking and even a little bit of jamming if you like. Some people might deduce a star for the big ledge before the final section of the crack, but I like it that way. The finish is strenuous enough as it is! Careful with the big jugs after the last bolts, the whole structure is hollow; should be okay if carefully weighted, though.

Interesting line, good climbing. The big chocks at the start don't inspire too much confidence, but they don't budge, should be fine. Chimney-like start, then crack and sidepulls.

The start is a bit unclear, I just traversed in via good rock from the left. Cool climbing on chunky structures with interesting moves. Soft for the grade.

Hung up the draws and checked out the moves.

Great route with a hard starting move into a mediocre sidepull and a cruxy section towards the fourth bolt that is most easily solved using a heel hook for the right foot. Easier, but beautiful up top.

Also good, with two difficult sections, one over the first bulge and one high up on a big flake. The finish is slightly contrived, but somehow makes use of every inch of good rock.

Great, classic line with the crux down low to get into the dihedral. Nice undercling moves in the top section. Good #warmup.

Had to rest in the sling that somebody put in the second bolt. Turns out that's the crux section.
