5.10c Takelage ( Prounounced as 'Thaa-Ka-Laahshz')

First 20 feet includes a 5.10b/c technical crux. The first overhanging bulge which comes up at the 20 odd feet mark is actually more benign than it looks. The next 20 odd feet reminds of you famous Bangalore slab climbing.

The next overhanging bulge is 5.11aish if you are under 5'10", which requires you to get reach a crimp over the bulge to pull yourself up. But an alternate line for the shorter folks is to go further right of the bolt and traversing back to the main line over the bolt.

The official grade is considering that it is possible to escape the direct crux move by traversing to the right.

5.10c Smoking Snakes
1 5.10c
2 5.7

P1: 5.10c. 25 meters, 8 + 2 bolts.

The takeoff is the crux. If the start feels harder than the 5.10C, that is probably because you may have not got the beta. Not a straightforward move. The grade eases up progressively after the takeoff, in increments of a grade.

P2: 5.7. 16 meters. 3 + 0 bolts.

Traverse right on the ledge towards the chimney, after pitch one. Pitch two ends on a massive ledge. Anchor using the boulders on the ledge and bring up the second. Walk towards the right to exit, or continue route number three (Mastaan), which is to the left side of the ledge.

5.10d Mastaan

To get to this climb, either Smoking Snakes, or hike up to the top. The first 15 feet are the crux of the entire route, with some beautiful face moves. 3rd to 4th bolt is runout on extremely easy terrain.

5.8 Monu's Backyard

Routes Monu's Backyard, Easy Peasy, & JugAah'D are what you come across as you hike towards the crag from the school. These are perfect warmups before the stiffer 5.10 routes further along the crag and can be climbed very quickly. As of mid-2018, the top anchors were stolen.

Monu’s Backyard starts along a crack, requiring a half mantle to get onto the slab. The top anchors are shared with Route Easy Peasy.

5.9 JugAah'D

Starts on a boulder leaning on the main face, and with a Jug. Slab move at the second bolt is the crux, and thereafter easy climb to the anchors.

5.7 G Zoar Gap

Crack

Gear needed: Rack upto #4

Starts on a block of rock, connects to another, gets on the face, and then connects to the off-width crack going diagonally left.

Couple of bolts were added on stance, and then, an anchor station was added when threatened by rain. The anchor station perverts the route and needs to be removed. Early attempts at ground up routes.

FFA: Sohan, Narayan Pai, and Karthik Vijayakumar.

2 5.5

Gear needed. Doubles of .5, .75, #1 & #2.

P1: 5.8G. 45 meters, 3 + 2 bolts. The takeoff on the block of rock, traverse right, and get onto the crack. If you have a tag line, exit from the station here. The route was partially ground up ascent by me. Tentative initial attempts at ground up climbing in early 2017. The rest of the route was rap bolted, hence the odd length of the route.

P2: 5.5. 20 meters. 0 + 0 bolts. Climb the easy slab, over the ridge, and get into a bucket on the other side, and belay your partner over, and walk off.

3 5.4

Sport multi-pitch route with a finger crack of 15 meters.

P1: 5.12b. 25 meters. 10 + 2 bolts

The corner moves are powerful, and on thin holds. Followed by 15 meters of finger crack. Three bolts were placed on this crack. If anyone wants to remove those three bolts, welcome to climb the route, and on gear, and can remove the bolts. The bolts are Rawl bolts and are easy to remove.

P2: 5.10a. 25 meters. 6 + 2 Bolts

The route angles left, and not terribly hard compared to P1!

P3: 5.4. 15 meters. 0 bolts

Through a gully top out.

Exit from second pitch or technical scramble to the left.

50-meter sport line on a Chimney.

One of the most stunning routes, I have been on. That moment, when you look down and the ground gives away, is an experience.

Look out for the beehives to the right of the route.

Starts as a squeeze chimney, and then then towards the end, is a stem-chimney.

P1: 5.10a. 29 meters. 9 + 2 Bolts

Start on slab, to squeeze chimney to corner stemming on the chimney to the anchors.

P2: 5.8. 20 meters. 6 + 2 bolts

Crux is transitioning to the chimney. Stem chimney, here on.

Exit: Two-pitch rap from P2. No other options.
