Routes in Northern Tablelands for selected grade

Start: A channel disguised by trees at the left hand end of the breakaway.

Up channel.

Start: 2m left of Fugue State

Up crack.

Start: The corner 30m right of Mystery Achievement.

1. 30m Up chimney trending to off-width, to a sloping grassy ledge. Belay in open chimney.

2. 30m Continue up corner to spacious grassy ledge, then up chimney to top.

Start: At the extreme left end of the Icefield, a large block leans up against the main face providing a low-angled corner crack. Everyone does this one. Up the crack.

Start: 10m. right of Eff. A short wall/groove. Some people will do anything to get their name in a guide book.

10m. Up the wall/groove.

Start: Approx. 20m right of Maybe on the easy section of cliff. Slab leading to grooves.

Up slabs to small groove, then up this and continue to top.

Start: Some 30m left of ‘Deceit’ on terrace.

1. 7m Up crack to belay on trees.

2. 43m Straight up undulating rock to top (probably little or no protection).

A speleological encounter of the squeeze kind Start: Around the corner from "Raspberry Jam"

Easy crack/face for about 3m then 5m up chimney, the first move once in chimney is the crux if you're over 5'.

Start: The edge of the Chimney/Passageway.

Layback the chimney and on up to top.

As you scramble into the head of the gully, there is a short, easy, wide crack on the large boulder on your left.

1. 10m Straight up the wide crack.

Start: There are slabs opposite the Wollomombi Falls. There is a chimney left around from the slabs. 16m. Start in the chimney, straight up for 13m., then traverse left for 3m. Walk round to the bottom.

Start: As for Hydrocide.

40m. Straight up the orner/gully.

Around left and uphill from Inspiration Point. The obvious rightward leaning crack. A good one for the kids.

1. Easily up the crack.

Corner of the boulder, easy up and easy down climb from other routes.

Stand start from ground, climb the same slab of LP1 utilising the flake/crack on the right and slab holds, left arete is out.

Right side of the crack, pretty easy up

Sitter from spike on right.

Sit start on wedges right side of the main bloc, trend leftwards and up via crack system +/- flake. Take care the large flake is loose but feels secure, the smaller one to the left is not safe, avoid or remove.

As for Capstone Direct to gain the slab then moving left to top out, not quite independent line but avoids the bad landing.

Same start holds as previous problem mving left into and up the flake gully.

Climb the Hanging Aretes to the left.

From the right lower slab moving left into DR3.1.

Centre of small boulder.

Sit start on wedges right side of main bloc, traverse left via the break to the far left of the slab, ascend left side of the slab

Seamed central slab stand start from triangle.

Left of Descent.

Sit start from juggy rail and sidecling at the back of Ramp Boulder finishing right.

Slab right of the alcove left of the tree.

Crank the left arete from standing.

Sitter from the seat by the tree, blocs on left are out.

Sit start on first small block around the corner of farthest left side of block/slab finishing up the left slab.

To the right of Crimp & Pocket.

Foot jam up the wide crack.

Easy way on-off

Start as for Ho1 and traverse right to finish up Ho3.

Sit start in ground alcove.

Crank the right arete from standing.

Sitter from jugs.

Start as for CWu4 traverse right and finish up CWu1, avoid the first small loose flake.

Climb left of the crack utilising it as an arete.

Up the bulgy arete Western aspect.

A fun highball slab

Sit start of Ho2 from the large crimp.

Sit start and climb the slab right of the flake right hand in short crack.

Short wall back of boulder starting left of tree.

Left side of the low angle slab on the far right of the larger twin. Also the easiest descent of the bloc.

Up from left edge of shelf.

Fun little top out from the slab

Directly up the right arete of the hanging face.

Sit start and up slab/gully from the foot jug.

Sit start and mantle the shelf right side of the ramp.

Right arete of North slab sans good holds on left.

Centre of the low angle slab on the far right of the larger twin.

Climb right of the crack utilising it as an arete,

Step up from the low flake step.

Jug rails

Short wall left of gully.

Left side of easy slab right side of crack in.

Climb the short chimney starting with your right foot cammed in the lower section.

Sitter from offwidth.

Right side of the low angle slab on the far right of the larger twin.

Sit start to DR2.10, nice move on the sit but some crumbly rock may improve with time/traffic.

Direct sit start from good crimps.

More jug rails

Sit start to SD6 from left arete.

Left side of crack.

Climb as for Love Doll Ridge but utilise the ridge as an arete for hands and keep feet to the slab as much as possible.

Sit start right arete North slab.

Sit start on the step far left of the narrow section of slab and up to top on that aspect of the boulder.

Sit start to VM0.1 from the crack.

Between Joey and Roadside.

Up the polished edge of the free standing nugget at the right end

Sit start to SD10.

Through the gully/wide crack system.

As for TD1.1 but the large juggy rail is out.

Stay left as long as possible.

Sit start on the step far left of the narrow section of slab, move right and up to top.

Short corner in grotto right of main South grotto.

Scarred blunt arete/rib right of Black Wallaby.

Metre right of the crack.

Scarred slab between the two vertical rails.

Centre of slab right of large flake.

Centre of slab left of Step Slab.

As for TD1.2 but feet topout right of the large juggy rail.

Left side slab.

Starting on the lowest angle slab, traverse around the entire smaller Salisbury Hot! boulder in either direction then finish up and over it's ridge.

Far right of boulder.

Blunt arete/rib right of tree branches

Low angle slab far left of boulder and tree.

Sit start and up the short chimney.

Far left arete via the crescent stone.

Sit start and up the the "crack" inner right aspect of the smaller Salisbury Hot! boulder, job done.

Gain the ramp at the crack on the right and finish as for Ramp.
