Summary

A selection of highly tide-dependent boulder problems on a secluded (by big city standards) beach.

Description

Bring lots of mats - the landings are virtually all on boulder fields and need substantial padding to be safe.

Access issues

For all access issues, please contact the Bay Area Climbers Coalition.

This is NPS land (part of the GGNRA).

Approach

Check the tide chart before you leave home - it has to be dead low tide for these areas to be worth visiting.

Park at the Golden Gate Overlook, then head south on the Batteries to Bluffs Trail for a hundred yards or so until you see the signposted turnoff to Marshall's Beach. Follow this trail down a bunch of stairs until you reach the beach.

Once you get down to the beach, the first wall is immediately left (facing out) of the base of the stairs. The other cluster of boulders is at the northern end of the beach, and are obvious from the base of the stairs.

This crag doesn't have any sub-areas or routes yet!
