Ascents in Camels Hump as Send

I managed to make my way up this boulder yesterday! I first looked at this 5 years ago when I was climbing V3. I’ve touched the holds and tried to pull on a few times over the years and had built it up in my head as being impossible. I tried it again a month ago, realised it might in fact be possible, and 6 sessions later I was standing on top. It’s the most effort or energy I’ve put into a climb, I had such an enjoyable experience working on it, and I’m incredibly proud to have put it together!

After 8 sessions in the past 2 months it finally went down today with many of the Melbourne bouldering crew there for psyche and fantastic conditions. First at the grade. Psyched to send this. The eliminated holds at the start make it a touch contrived, but the moves it creates are great. Adding the start to the 9 is deceptive, doesn't seem like much, but really turns this into an anaerobic capacity problem.

Sent a while back just forgot to tick. One of my favourite v10s.

Yay, fun to work the beta. Moreso than most other climbs, and the moves are sick and very uncommon due to the traversey nature of the problem. Psyched I got this one

Don’t think it’s a v10. Sick v9 though. Shoulder and powerful.

Better than the original. The dyno makes the problem a more solid v9... technical dyno.

Did the stand start from the LH crimp and RH crimpy pocket - suggested as V4/V5 so I’ll take V4. Heaps of tension and body position, the full thing looks wild

Went down today after a few burns to link into straining rail. Used the SR kneebar. Really enjoyed the movement. Have to have a crack at Life During Wartime now.

ATW - simply finished at end of Straining Rail.

First of the grade. Great extension to humpty and makes the line feel more satisfying and complete.

Pretty unexpected send... just wanted to dial the moves into Straining Rail before calling it. LOVE the sequence getting into SR, but man does it add some spice to that line - had to fight for it.

Did the stand. Got close on the 7.

did the standstart, so v5, fun

got the v8 and just continued out of momentum and sent the v9 as well on the same go

Rad! tried it a handful of times over the last couple years and managed to put it together today

Lightweight baby

Was pretty natural to do the extension coming back again after doing Humpty Dumpty a while ago. Send train with Matthias Fischer

Long 2 year project done. Completes Humpty Dumpty into a more wholesome line. Put 4 dedicated sessions into it and a many more attempts on different days.

Maybe onto the 10 next?

Short, sweet and shouldery. Went from every move feeling near impossible, to nabbing the send fairly quickly. Stoked.

Never worked on a climb more than this on. It took me 4 session and I learnt something new every single time. It was a fun journey but I'm glad it ended!

First of the grade! Went within the one session, exactly my style

first v8 ever, just got it because it adapted to my style perfectly. crux is a high foot while on an extended shoulder compression, so quite what i am good at
