Ascents in First Breakaway

Top rope solo Onsight on acid. Great fun

Unfortunately the acid made my feet very slippery in the shoes and this felt really nails. I'm sure if my feet were dry it would have felt much easier

The gr de 16 offwidth feels harder than the 20s

Quite nice moves

Wide hands in parts

Would be good if it had more traffic

Just hope the tourists don't chuck their rubbish

Really nice climbing. Would have excellent pro with small cams after 4 m

A few moves of interest around bulges

The top is fairly green, getting into the crack was quite tricky

Buzzed by someone's drone. Late afternoon sun on the falls was beautiful

Super dirty, slipped out and had to brush. Would be a bit tenuous to lead.

Wet and a bit grimy, but really nice climbing

More post fire grime, but nice twin cracks/ stemming moves

Quite interesting climbing, post fire a bit weedy and dirty, cleaned it as best I could and decided top roping everything else was wise

not a fan of the bolt placements.

did the chimney as more of an offwidth to use up some of my excess strength. nice clean crack line to finish

maybe a 15 if you trust the huge wobbly block on the first half? definitely not if you dont. which i didnt. i don't trust like that

With Robert. I really liked this. Most people won't because it is slimy and mossy. I love that sort of thing. The last move is quite hard, and a great move, and then you get to belay under the lookout and people on the lookout don't know you're there and if any Scotsmen come by you can see up their kilt (none did)

Extremely thin on holds. Main difficulty is hanging around to place small wires.

The prevailing ethic at the time of the first ascent was 'no pre-inspection or pre-cleaning' and Phil was hit on the shin by a large rock whilst belaying. Hence the name.

Great top half easily makes up for the first thrutchy section.

I think this might have been Simon's first lead on a first ascent.

Needs cleaning before it will get many ascents.

May not be 19 with modern protection.

Needs a good clean.
