Ascents in Lake Bellfield

A little soft at the grade? One big crank. The twin Es (Rath and Guggin and Neil follow.

Good face climb that needs bolting.

Nice little variation to Pale Rider, interesting moves left to the fixed hanger then some balancy moves to the top.

Sharp crimps, satisfying moves and only needed one early piece of protection given the hangers, nice as I didn't know what I was getting into. Felt like a short but fair 22.

Easy-peasy for the grade. One-move wonder, but very nice climb.

Tricky getting established into the crack, but quite nice once you’re in it.

Fun crack, getting in was a puzzle. I had a slip at the beginning, hence the hangdog, but didn't think I needed to repeat. I slipped when I tried some side pull action keeping my feet left of the crack, it worked better when I went directly into the void from the start, feet were super solid once jammed in.

Should have worn my crack gloves. Would also have been better on a dry day, as the bottom slab was running with water and the top section was greasy.

Didn’t love this one. Suuuuuper contrived as you can just climb the jam crack right next to it missing half of the route. Very fiddly gear up top but with time could make it work nicely I’m sure. Felt really hard so bailed upwards with a rope we conveniently had hanging up. Will come back if I’m desperate
