Incredible crack climb one of the best I’ve hopped on!

Onsight cancelled.

An absolute classic crack by any standards. The crack looks harder than it actually climbs. Quite straight forward climbing. The gear is bomber. A must do in your SA crack tick list!

Mega classic route. A well protected crux move from the roof to get into the crack and then the party starts. A couple of finger lock moves to a short rest then sustained jam fest to chains. A good rest ledge up top to not blow the finish. A++ climbing

Group send train of this Ultra Mega Classic. Climb a tricky boulder problem into a steep finger crack which gradually widens to the higher you get. The crux is down low through a series of tricky finger locks then it backs off so you can fully enjoy the next 20m or so of bomber jams on perfect rock.

Pulled on gear way too much

Lead on pre-placed gear. A great technical crack. Bouldery 24 moves through the bulge and above, which relents to pleasant 18. A joy to climb.

Really good. Nice moves and great gear. That drop-in stopper in the middle of the hard stuff is 😍 felt pretty reasonable for 24 to me.

One of my favourite climb in Moonaire. Good climbing all the way. Got pumped through the crux and fell a few meters later.

Pink point attempt; would probably tick it, if I did more climbing than clipping around the crux move. Done with one rest.

Had my eye on this route for nearly 20 years, and finally got to jump on it!

Psyched to get the onsight! Old Stumps is back, though my finger is still numb from that mono ring lock

Easier than 24 probably. Loved every inch

What a sick climb! First time sieging a trad route (and falling on nuts). Amazing how different the climb feels between a nervous first go placing gear and a fresh attempt knowing the moves and trusting the gear

Hard warmup but came down and finished it of 2 go

Another Moonarie centrefold worthy line. Climbed between the 3 of us using seige tactics.

Having learnt absolutely nothing from Expiry Date two days prior, Yimbo decided Fingernicken’ would be a good choice. I prepared myself for 3 hours of belaying his aid mission.

To both our surprises he freed every move, then I managed to snag the flash on second!

Another lap to sus out the gear and stances was followed by an impressive redpoint by Yimbo.

With the sun setting my repoint attempt would have to wait for the morning. Went first shot, stoked!

Wasn’t intending to jump the trad redpoint grade on this trip, let alone by four grades, but I’ll take it!
