Fluffed the onsight FA by missing the critical pocket - buffo!

Secret pockets, high steps, bovine roaring and a dire finish - what a banger! And all just before the storm.

I like this route

Hard start to a soft finish. Quality rock in the second half!

Right-eyed variant on sight FA - fluffed it by discovering the topout move was the crux!

Left-eyed variant, blew up just before the topout again.

Pretty straightforward, with slopy topout.

Tried it lots but couldn't scrabble over the rounded edge from the massive undercling/kneebar on flat ledges or using the 2 finger pocket. Nor checked closely what was above apart from dire rusty carrots.

Surprisingly easy start, then excellent grey edges to finish up high.

This variation doesn't add much, better to do the direct.

Ticklish thin start then phat juggen.

Lead up the rusty carrots for a bit of spice. Delicate headwall move to finish.

Good trad pro and edges, crux on headwall.

Up to dissemble the anchors. Just a couple of chimney moves.

Had a bit of a go, got to crucial edge next to 2nd ring but didn't clip it.

Pretty pleasant, the pheasant.

Little overhang offers little resistance.

Love this buttress with its hard grey rock.

First climb of the day to set up the anchors. Good pro, solid edges.

Just to make sure ...

If you don't stick you feet on the gritty slopes, you will fly. Off.

Worked and worked in a sandy flail

Alas twas all to no avail!

Like the climbs to the left, only worse.

Tried it both ways and suffered equally. But let's not skimp on character-building!

A bit like the climbs to the further left, only more sandy and less juggy.

Hard! Even though I pretended I was back on granite so the small line of larger crystals and 1 finger + 2 finger pocket sequence didn't seem so bad ...

Slopy topout encouraged use of top rope.

Can't crank on that little.

Sandy slots up high and failing fingers stymied success.

Lovely solid rock and giant jugs - only wished it was 5 times as long.

Lovely LCOTD on orange rock lit by setting sun. A bit steep, no pro.
