Una vía muy divertida, con el crux muy al principio y movimientos entre candelabros gigantes con un paso sorpresa al final. Es una friega ponerla y quitarla. Manuel Procopio la encadeno justo después que yo.

route feels like taking hallucinogens, 3d-climbing through the crazy part of the cave. Starts roofy and at bolt 2 to 3 some awkward squeezing between stalactites, then athletic climbing on the arch up to bolt 5 where the crux starts, nice physical moves on worse holds, then some easy climbing with many good rests between bolt 6 and 10, after that a really crazy part where you go to "la ventana", sit down and continue on huge holds up to bolt 12 (very exposed!!!!) where you have a last huge stalactite to sit down, then pumpy and funny sequence up to bolt 13 and 14 where the redpoint-crux starts, physical moves to an undercling, right kneebar and up to a very good incut crimp, clip the last bolt, bad intermediate, move feet and a last powerful move to the gloryhole and up to the chains...3 tries in total to send (without kneepad obviously!), afterwards I had to clean the route on toprope which is really hard haha

This one's to come back to. I tried twice, once on our first day, and another our last. Extremely long route that traverses through a series of very conveniently shaped stalactites. A unique lay into a stalactite high above the ground! Pumpy as all hell! Igor was really really close to sending this!

climb 'la bocina' then go right for a long and pumpy extension. The upper crux is amazing with a big undercling (I didn't do a kneebar-rest there), then some sharp crimps, a crazy dropknee and some nice big tufas to fight up to the last rest. I already saw that downgrading is very popular in Chonta these days, however I stay with the original 8a-grade and I'm happy to take the points haha wasn't that easy at all, 3 tries on two days (+1 try 2 years ago)

9 days. 20+ attempts. 11- climbing to a really bad and sharp kneebar rest, to a V6/7 crux involving aa really big move to a left hand pinch on steep terrain. After an OK kneebar rest, long, steep 12- climbing to the chains, split by good kneebar rests. I managed to do all the moves during the first session, including onsighting the whole upper part. The rest of the time was spent trying the bottom part. When I did it, on the last possible attempt of the last possible day, it was the first time I stuck the crux move from the bottom. I was so excited about it that I could hardly control my breathing, let alone remember my top sequences. I commited and trusted my movement to motor memory, and focused on breathing and being patient on the rests, even though my calves and thighs were exploding in pain, pump, and exhaustion. It felt like my legs would give in before my hands and forearms. I powered through sections where I forgot how to do, and I was excited and anxious at the same time. Getting to that triangle jug before clipping the chains was great. It felt like a major milestone in my climbing- something I've wanted for so long. It is also the result of so many hours full of joy, psyche, and effort climbing alone, with friends, through frustration, happiness, but also grief and sadness. I am so thankful for life, for my friends and loved ones who accompanied me along the way, for Chrissy, with all her patient and encouraging belays, training, support, psyche (she initiated the send train by sending Amate earlier) and much more, and of course, to climbing. On to the next one!!

4-5 tries in February 2020, two tries this Saturday, what a line in the cave!!! straight up climbing the first 5 bolts to a bad kneebar-rest (without kneepad!), little shake and crux-boulder, three entrance-moves and long move to tufa-pintch (without dyno!), another knee-rest and three bolts of sustained & physical stalactite-climbing to leave the very overhanging part of the cave to the next (very good) knee-rest, little technical boulder with awesome tufa, another very good kneebar-rest and funny little sequence to the chains, world-class-route!!!

Dogged it with pretty much one fall. Crux is at the huge hole with the eagle's nest in it! Very very very cool route with a steep start!

So my OS streak on el Chonta is over now... First time sport climbing in a while, and what a way to come back! Ultramarathonic route on the right side of the cave, starting at the namesake yellow amate tree. At least 40m long. Gets harder and harder as you go up, too. Can be divided into two parts: a pumpy and 3D 12a, into an active, but good rest (active sit) on a stalactite, into a 12b power endurance route with the crux protecting the anchors. 3 goes, no dice. Got stung 30+ times by bees

It is super nice route, half of the route technical pump ( super tricky moves). 2 . Half endurance. However you have good holds you are at the steep part and eating your energy quick. But bee stung me second time there ( I have 7 stung trace now on my body) I hope they will stop to stung me.

Super nice fun start. 3 bolts before the anchor 2 bolts have hard few moves . After that 3 bolt enjoy the huge tufas. Bolts are so close.

Super nice route, 12 attempts . Steepest of route was beating me and I was falling on last 2 bolts in my last 4 go. But yesterday with friends support I clipped the anchor of this beautiful route

Gran calidad de línea, relativamente corta a comparación de la mayoría de las vías de la zona. Varias placas y bolts ya están oxidados y en mal estado, lo bueno que ya la encadene.

Super great ending for a great trip. I really missed this place. I also missed trying hard on a route. Tried for 3 days, 7 shots in total. Very pumpy for me, despite the rests. Nice to be climbing again!
