Brilliant climb, very adventurous and committing. First pitch heady for a 17, 2nd pitch unbelievable exposure and climbing. Had to French aid the last pitch in the end after 6 attempts at the staunch beginning - super physical...ain't no finessing that!! Haha

P1 - Second clean. P2- Lead until I got off route and ran out of gear, then got stuck on a ledge with no head torch, unclimbable terrain and waiting for 4.5 hours for our friends to rescue us. Haha. A cold ledge with a giant bird's nest, a great view and great chat. The Odyssey Wall - Always good for an Epic. Still Undefeated.

Party of 3 with 2 ropes. I climbed second and lead the pitches clean with gear pre placed. Epic epic route!

Mega exposure on the second pitch. Don't get sucked too far into the chimney before trying to turn outwards.

I seconded Sam Waetford up this years ago, it felt pretty easy this time. I ended up in an awkward hanging stance at the start of the Odyssey slab traverse (for Space Odyssey), I should've belayed level with the first Odyssey belay instead.

The crux pitch went down surprisingly easily first go for both of us. The second is quite dirty and fairly dangerous. A #4 for the anchor would've been nice.

Great, long first pitch, blue nut was stuck so had to go on the rope to free it, but wasn't a rest as I was more tired by the time I got it out (eventually worked out I could haul up on it to get it out, which felt quite freaky to be pulling up halfway up the route, banging on it was just scraping my hand and not moving it). Lost my smallest blue (medium) Metolius cam somewhere. We presume one of us thought it was hooked on our harness when it wasn't and it dropped, but who knows, discovered it was missing when racking for pitch 2.

Great second pitch, was not feeling it at all before setting off (looks so daunting) once I was established in the roof of the cave I was pumped for it. Difficult placement in the constriction at the top of the cave, lead to a nice "leg press" traverse. Good placements once out of the cave, and a freaky crossing to the "ramp/slab". Technical traverse with good pro, and careful feet placement. Interesting jump down from one ramp to the other (couldn't work out the reverse mantle) and went past the anchor point to check out if it was further (didn't feel I'd gone far enough). Pink tri-cam amazing in the anchor crack, and amazing views.

Climbed it all free, crux felt like 22 when you found the right holds on the right side. Another jammed nut, but flew up it to be at the top before dark. | 80m | Kawakawa Bay | Sat 11th Mar 2023 | |||||

The original grade of 25 felt very soft however it might depend on where your crux gear placement goes and what sections of holds/jams that allows you to use
