Ascents in Magaliesberg

Built my stance on the wrong "obvious block" after turning around the corner : do yourself a favor and use the one 2m above with a piton

Abbed at the tree after Pitch 1, last climb of theday and the rest was in the sun. Great slab pitch !

Basically a free solo there is so litle gear, unless you packing some massive cams. Found 4 pieces of pro so a bit on the run out side.

Perfectly clean and solid rock all the way. good gear.

I am not sure we followed the route properly. On pitch one, the right side of the arete became more than 13 after ~20m. I could guess the unstable block and could not find the piton belay. So I went to the left side of the arete to a comfortable ledge above tree with 2 wobbly blocs. 35m, 13 itch 2 was very dirty, the cracks were full of ground and vegetation. I bailed and abseil from the top to the stance in order to do the pitch top-rope. I stayed on the arete the whole way. I felt more lie a 16 and the protection was possible after a great deal of cleaning.

We stopped after P1 in order to assit the rescue of a climber fallen on Time Limit

Good clean rock but feels easy. The top section has two finishes. We did the left, but right side might be better and harder

Short route at the meeting spot, but surprisingly nice top section through the roof

Great second pitch, good exposure and feels hard for its grade

It is easy to get the start wrong, but second pitch very pleasant

Second pitch is a goodie

First ever outdoor climbing experience and of course my first ever trad experience. Smashed my headlamp at the start of the climb so I climbed this guy mostly in the dark. Was really an epic experience. This climb hit me like an infectious disease. Immediately started buying my own kit after this climb.

Try not to get devoured by the offwidth crack on the righthand side of the route. It may make the climbing a tad harder.
