Nice climb. My first time on Looking Glass slab. Can def. get a little hairy on some moves. Blew a shotty tri-cam placement on the crux of the 2nd pitch. Nice fall. 3rd pitch off the belay is heady and committing.

5.5 Bee Tree - with Jennifer Brown Mixed trad 90m, 1 Rumbling Bald Average

Sat 4th Jul 2015
Very little pro. Will need a #4 or bigger cam for the bee hole near the top. One might be able to work in a tricam or small camalot in the back of it as well. Would not attempt when wet. Flake up high is juggy but I would be leary of placing much pro on the right side. There's a bomber .2 X4 placement on the face to the right of it.

Great warm up with superb jugs and numerous protection options. Things got a little wandering at the top so I just traversed over easy terrain to the anchors of Overlooked and Underrated (5.9),which are just left of No Experience Necessary, and rapped down.

I really enjoyed this one. Stepping off the boulder is kinda cool and the route provides great face climbing. Be sure to pack a small cam, I used a .2 C4/X4 I believe, if you want to tame the runout near the top.

Really enjoyed the face climbing on this trad route. No crack moves required! Do bring small gear. A .1 X4 would have been nice to protect the start after the scramble.

Sun 4th Sep 2016
Follow 3 bolts on a bulging arete up and over a horizontal break. Continue along the bulging arete till it tops out. The anchors will be on the left adjacent wall. Do avoid traversing left at the horizontal break as you will be forced to climb the last 20+' on delicate holds. Jugs abound if you stay on the arete.

Fell again after the 5th bolt. The sharpness of the holds makes the condition of your skin a relevant factor. The Butcher will make you bleed.

Sat 4th May 2019
Sequence intensive face climbing on positive holds. Only 3 bolts on 40' of climbing with potential ledge falls makes for some spicey moves down low. Be careful on the move to the second bolt. Third bolt is where the route earns its name. Tricky onsight.

Sun 5th May 2019
We did the 5.10a version which follows a more direct path up the mini dihedral forcing you to stay right of the first 2 bolts. This bottom section required a little more finesse on smaller holds but quickly gave way to fun 5.9 juggy climbing after the second bolt.

Been over a year since I last attempted it and oh did it show. Managed the first 4 bolts with ease but couldn't remember the beta from 4th to 5th nor the 5th bolt clipping beta. The bottom bolder also felt remarkably harder, makes me wonder if some holds flakes off.

First bolt is high. I climbed about 10' then stick clipped it.

Great slab climbing on good granite crimps and edges that requires a little thoughtfulness.
