Ascents of Child in Time as Red point

2nd shot, messed the start up. Lovely climbing.

Pre placed the first two metres as it seemed pretty sketchy. Placed gear rest of the way woooo. Pumpy AF

Felt in the zone and relaxed on the this red point burn happy to seal the deal on this classic line

That early morning, apparently I woke up all the cows and chicken on the distant farms with all the power screaming.

I don't think it gets better than this. Thin start with thin gear but once its done, fight the rest like its Ali vs Frazer. The forearms will scream, the hands won't fit, the mind will enter survival mode, the fight will be blurry and all the joy with its glory, short lived. But one thing will not change: Eternal Time and Mortal Children.

The lyrics go OOO aaah OOO which was my lyrics with the odd #%+* thrown in for the first 4m. Desperate to get to the crimp, can't believe how much energy I expended. No way I was going to fall off the rest after finally getting through the start.

Stoked to get the red point today after falling on the onsight attempt over a year ago. Full value, from start to finish!

More like a Retro Flash, my last unsuccessful attempt on this climb was back in August 2010. I climbed it clean 1st attempt.

Stoked to tick this. The tough start doesnt make this climb as hard as some of the other 22s at Frog, but it IS extremely sequency. Fell off at 5m on first shot, lowered off and tried again without resting, and fell off again. Pulled ropes, had a decent rest, then smashed it to the top. Alas, the first 5m of gear was preplaced due to time constraints. Great climb, with some sustained rattly fingers at the top as a sting in the tail.

It finally went. Lesson learned: the way to deal with small gear is to double it up. The start was really fun when I stopped being scared.

With Ash. Yahoo - I've finally climbed it placing evey piece on lead. The first 6 meters are as gnarly a 22 as you'd ever find anywhere I reckon. 12 June 05 with Ash. Pre-placed the first 5 pieces on Saturday, then lead the route ground up on Sunday. Next I want to put in every piece on lead. 5 June with with Cam. Lame effort Susy G. Had my scaredy pants on, the ones that make me over-protect and my arms fill up with lactic. 20 Feb 05 with Ben from DMM. I felt excellent on this. Sep 26 04 with Cate. After a filthy hard start, the climbing on this is beautiful, wonderful, sensational. Yep - I liked it.
