Ascents of Mr Universe

3 working laps, progress and punishment. Love DF.

Just a short play on the bottom crux. Can still do, and will do.

Two laps today, almost did the bottom crux placing and tickled the rail after the driveby on my second lap. Good to refine some moves, plenty of work to do before I am in red point form on this route.

Surprise surprise the bottom boulder didn’t give me much grief today but the drive by took a fair few attempts. 3 laps

Three goes. Some good links. Tried so hard on the top after i caught the pinch and my thumb came off that i bit a chunk out of my lip. Classic!!!

Two goes. Primo connies. Had a good shot that ended on the last move of the low crux and I'm starting to make some more links up high but I still find the drive by very low percentage, annoyingly. Feels proper hard.

Three goes. Trashed my skin and was still feeling a bit average after my second jab. New beta for the top crux is much more consistent now which is nice (put your foot higher, Will. It is always the answer). Had some nice links through the easy climbing but everything else was medium.

Oohhh progress. Linked through the bottom boulder from the ground on my second go and managed to repeat the top move a few times with new beta on my third go. Great success. Still feels impossible though. (x3)

Still haven't linked through the start boulder from the ground annoyingly, and i've not been able to repeat the top crux either. May have to check out the Puniverse exit as a stepping stone to doing it properly. (x3)

Good warm up go, average second go, decent third go. I can't imagine doing the move at the top after everything else oh man.

Finally did the move, then almost did it from the ground but let go in surprise. Went direct at the top and I think that’s the real crux. (x3)

Did the boulder from the deck for the first time so that’s a break though. Had more trouble on the drive by today?? Better links on the upper sections.

2.5 laps.

Two laps. Like every time I reclimb this route I remember how much I love it. Found new beta for the bottom boulder that suits me much more, can conceive linking this from the ground now so who knows above??

Pretty awesome. One of the best routes I've done in the mountains I reckon. And that despite the traversing, constructed holds and multiple-ways-at-the-top-controversy (I took the "middle" way, with RH in the pocket, LH on the door knob and then RH to the chalked R rail - really liked this sequence!)

Heaps of crux progress, came so sooo close to sticking the move a whole bunch of times, just need to grow three centimetres or so, or get a bit stronger. Had one fun link from the ground to the throw which was cool. (x2)

This is a poor warm up. Nearly nearly did the low crux move but not quite, tickled the right hand almost jug. She's 'ard. (x2)

This on the other hand is really rad. I only went up to just after the traverse left and managed everything without too many issues except for the dive out right off of the shocking mingers. Much more psyched to try and work this out.

This route when from the one day list to the some day list pretty quick. I did the bottom boulder for the first time ever and almost link through it second shot. Still a lot of hard climbing but very psyched to put the time in.

Top of my DF project list. 3 laps today refining and remembering moves. The it still too warm for the bottom crimp boulders but got all the rest of the moves pretty easy. 3 for 3 on the driveby.

2 laps. Wow, surprisingly awesome. I couldn't touch the micro-crimp move past the 3rd bolt, but I eventually did all the other moves with a few bits of linkage. An awesome, resistance test piece with lots of challenging moves. Maybe one day this is something to return to.

A quick refresh lap after failing on bliss. Glad it feels easier then last time.

Awesome route. Keeps coming back at you to the top. Real happy to knock this one off pretty quick.

Just a couple dog laps working moves. I couldn't hold the minging first crux holds, but did all of the other moves, still have to sort a few of the clips. Very good but very hard and sustained.

Climbed via the step onto mr carpet burn, the direct moves are a debated point.
