16 Jug Addiction Sport 20m, 8 Kawakawa Bay Good Wed 20th Feb 2019
Goes on gear, with a couple of runouts. Probably could have hunted around and found more.

13 Pooh Corner Sport 18m, 7 Pakeho Very Good Wed 31st Oct 2018
On gear because why not? You could put a lot of pro in this. Would be a decent first trad lead, with bolts available for sanity.

13 Pooh Corner - with Greer Sport 18m, 7 Pakeho Very Good Mon 12th Oct 2020
Placing gear for Greer to second and have a look. Lots of options.

16 Alice In Wonderland - with Gareth Sport 20m, 7 Kawakawa Bay Good Sat 28th Nov 2020
And as promised, it goes on gear. Decent pro for the boulder crux, a bit trickier low down.

17 Alice In Wonderland - with Gareth Sport 20m, 7 Kawakawa Bay Good Wed 29th Dec 2021
Perfectly good gear close to every bolt. Took the left-hand crux (17).

16 Alice In Wonderland - with Jonno Rau Sport 20m, 7 Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 1st Jan 2023
New Year's Day and hardly anyone here? Unbelievable. A much more absorbing route on gear.

16 Alice In Wonderland - with Gareth Sport 20m, 7 Kawakawa Bay Good Mon 23rd Oct 2023
Gear within half a metre of every bolt.

14 Cannibal Groove - with Grant Johnston Sport 23m, 6 Wharepapa Rock Good Thu 12th Jul 2018
I've climbed this before on bolts, goes well enough on gear which starts small but becomes more heartening the higher you go.

14 Cannibal Groove Sport 23m, 6 Wharepapa Rock Good Sat 24th Aug 2019
There is a ton of gear from first bolt onward. Mostly nuts but totems in pockets pretty useful.

14 Cannibal Groove - with Gareth Sport 23m, 6 Wharepapa Rock Good Sat 31st Aug 2019
Fun trad warmup.

14 Cannibal Groove - with Colin Sport 23m, 6 Wharepapa Rock Very Good Sun 15th Sep 2019
Arapiles refresh, stitch 'er up, nuts, totems, hex.

14 Cannibal Groove Sport 23m, 6 Wharepapa Rock Good Sat 16th May 2020
Take a big hex next time.

14 Cannibal Groove Sport 23m, 6 Wharepapa Rock Good Sat 26th Sep 2020
Soft rock, stitch it up. Top wants a really big hex, #11-12. Must get one.

16 Marshmellow - with Gareth Sport 20m, 6 Kawakawa Bay Average Mon 26th Oct 2020
Couldn't find my rock shoes, climbed in chunky approach shoes, certainly upped the pucker factor on the moss. Gear a bit sparse at top. I never need to do this again.

16 Unknown - with Grant Johnston Sport 16m, 6 Hospital Flat Good Tue 2nd Feb 2021
There's perfectly decent gear all the way with a miniscule runout to the anchor. Crux getting out of the crack and over the lip. Solid 16 or soft 17?

17 Saturday Morning Jive - with Angela Hewlett Sport 11m, 5 Maungarei Springs Average Wed 11th Mar 2020
There's gear. It's not great gear but it'll do. A #3 cam would probably go in the drill hole but I didn't take it up, duh.

18 Sylvie’s Blast Hole - with Grant Johnston Sport 11m, 4 Maungarei Springs Good Wed 27th Sep 2017
It totally goes on gear, and the stances are solid. RPs useful for the top crack. PS: it's more like 17.

18 Sylvie’s Blast Hole - with Angela Hewlett Sport 11m, 4 Maungarei Springs Good Sat 7th Oct 2017
Plenty of gear in the thin crack, avoid cams in the wide crack at left. Nice.

18 Sylvie’s Blast Hole - with Angela Hewlett Sport 11m, 4 Maungarei Springs Good Fri 20th Oct 2017
2 hexes, 2 small nuts.

13 Peach Teats - with Angela Hewlett Sport 12m, 4 Kawakawa Bay Average Sun 4th Nov 2018
Wind down part 1: all five tricams and a red totem basic. Much more fun on gear. Then dropped the rope and had to scramble off the back in shame.

14 Dancing on Rainbows - with Angela Hewlett Sport 12m, 4 Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 4th Nov 2018
Wind down part 2: two pink tricams, red and yellow totem basics, thread, bomber #1 C4.

13 Peach Teats Sport 12m, 4 Kawakawa Bay Good Tue 28th Jan 2020
Cleaning the TR anchor. Cams in pockets.

17 Reggae Shark P1-2
1 17 25m lead by John Pitcairn
2 14 15m lead by John Pitcairn
Sport 40m Kawakawa Bay Good Sun 26th Jan 2020
Went up in the evening to see if there would be a link pitch on gear into The Sufferer And The Witness, allowing a full gear route to the very top of the bluff. There would be, but it would be short chossy and pretty average, probably need a hand rope, and cleaning it would rain crap on everything below. Effort best spent elsewhere. Linked P1-2, forgot Gareth's rope is now 56m and had to get down in 2 abseils.
