Very tricky and very thin but also quite cool. Foot slipped on the slabby traverse right. Steve somehow led this pitch as it started raining and had to deal with wet slopers.

Amazing climb! Amazing adventure! Took us a while but we got to the top despite the rain coming halfway through and how challenging we found the pitches.

Spicy start to the climb kept things interesting but it's definitely a lot easier if you find the right beta.

2 18 20m Sport lead by Jill

Silly fall onto spikey tree. I have been "hard" sport climbing too much recently to remember to switch to a more conservative mindset on a multi when the consequences of falling and injury are worse. Lesson learned for next time!

3 18 40m Second lead by Grace Daff

This was such a cool pitch, so much value. I really enjoyed the traverse, step out back onto the arete and the bulge sequence. So fun and thought provoking.

4 8 30m Sport lead by Jill

A little more exciting because I didn't go far enough to the right to find the bolts and ran it out between trees. Climbing was easy and felt just like tibro spacing on easy territory so I wasn't stressed. Did have a chuckle when I eventually saw how many bolts I had skipped oops!

5 8 40m Second lead by Grace Daff
6 18 40m Second lead by Grace Daff

This was meant to be my lead but I swapped with Grace cuz I was feeling a bit woozy after dressing my leg with some first aid supplies. It was a glorious sequence under the roof and stepping out onto the headwall, loved it. Even with loads of extenders the rope drag seemed pretty bad!

7 18 40m Sport lead by Jill

I got my head screwed back on to finish the climb strong. This pitch was The starting move was a bit tough to commit to but once I went for it and stood up it was jug city and flowy moves up in the sky almost to the top. I wasn't expecting the top out to have a final cruxy move but it kept things interesting for sure, especially when I was one draw short and had to repurpose a locker...

Loved this pitch though.

8 13 40m Sport lead by Jill

Super fun for a 13. Lots of variety and the rope drag wasn't too much with a heap of slings. The feeling topping out and looking out over the valley was so special. Wildflowers and blue skies. Happy climber!

What an adventure! It was a great mixture of thoughtful moves for the first 3 pitches and then headwall glory for the last 3.

Overall the climb was easier than I expected (phew) but I did have an unfortunate lapse in concentration/decision making skills whilst leading P2 and made a sketchy move above the ledge mid pitch. I fell a decent way onto a spikey tree. Sorry tree.

I was a bit shaken up but I managed to pull it together and keep going.

Bunny Bucket was very enjoyable even with a flesh wound Thanks Grace for being my rope wife! Can't wait for our next trip to the Bluies!

The simplest route of the day. 44 mins base to top. First few pitches had a stuck rope and comms issues, otherwise sub-40 would've been within reach.

Thanks to the other parties for letting us sneak by, hope you had a great day!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to jump on this Bluies classic and it was definitely worth the wait! Preparations were suboptimal. I jumped on with a hamstring strain that made the opening boulder move very painful and also sliced a fingertip with a knife the night before which bled nicely throughout the day.

Having said that, the Grose Valley is an incredible part of the Bluies, and the feeling of having the place to yourself on the side of a cliff is incredible.

8 hours car-to-car, could be cut down by: not getting a knot stuck on the abseil; not dropping my ATC off the cliff at pitch 3; not needing to rebandage my bleeding finger multiple times; and better rope management at belays.

Neat. My first big multi. 8 hours car to car, some faffing. Aaron dropped an ATC and opened the finger he sliced making sanagas the night before... The bluies put on a show for us in the late Arvo - just stunning.

Tried for an epic - Myles overshot the rap point on the first rap, I lead us straight past the bottom of the climb, and we even went the wrong way to get back and had to bush-bash up the hill to the trail. The climbing part was fine. Pitch 3 was the low point, pitch 7 was the bomb. 7 hours car-to-car.

We found the first anchor from after the mirrorball rap without too many issues. Had a little trouble from overshooting the second anchor on the abseil and having to prussik up a bit. But now I know won’t have any trouble for future climbs out there.

The climb itself was great and didn’t have any trouble. Pitch 3 is definitely the hardest/shittest but the rest is great.

A beautiful sunrise beckoned as sydney drove us through mt victoria. We went to pick up ben - nathans climbing partner up who realised his roomie had parked him in. We met nathan at the walk in, who to my surprise was eating something other than bread! (Coco pops). We rapped in smoothly despite the debacle over whether my rope was green or orange. Then did 8 pitches of climbing. 3rd one was tough. Grabbed a draw rounding the arete and generally spent way too long on the pitch. Marty had to run the 6th pitch out after not taking enough draws. Lucky for all those 'ten pin bowling pockets'. He pronounced after one of his less graceful mantles 'ill pull mingers all day but hit me with a grade 8 whale and im a mess'. Sammys up top, hot walk out and then georgia picked us up from bell and delivered us to the sanctity of the blackheath pub

Another lap, with a bit of speed.

3 hours 46 min car to car. 2 hours 31 min on the wall. All free. Linked pitches 1 + 2, simul climbed pitches 4 + 5. Definitely room for improvement but better than the last lap.

Weather today could not have been more perfect.

Wonderful route, marvelous views. We took Mirrorball Rap A. We took 2h50min to reach the base of the route, rappelled with a Tagline slowly and carefully. I fell in my second ptich lead due to a slippery pocket close to the 3rd-4th bolt. Took 3h20min climbing, as we started behind a slower party and waited quite a bit to start every pitch, but this allowed us to enjoy the views and the climb a lot more. The walk back to upper carpark was about 40min. 6h50min car to car.

Started early, got to first rap by 8:30. The knot got stuck in a notch and Tony had to prussick back up to dislodge it. Still very hard hauling due to the long rap. We each used waist prussicks to get the ropes down. Got to the ground at 11 then had a hard time finding the start... An epic was developing!

Finally found the starting ledge and got on the rock by 12:30. P1. 2nd, Bungled the first move but got it second try with different beta. P2. Reachy! P3. A doozey of a pitch! Great lead by Tony. P4. Basic. Straight forward. P5. Misleading at grade 8. More like 11, still easy so meh. P6. Too gripped to extend draws under roof. Paid for it with heinous rope drag and a fall at the last move on the face. I would pre-extend all my draws before leaving the ground next time... Or be better. P7. Long! Good holds, sustained. Both very fatigued by this stage. P8. Lead in the dark, chill way to finish. Top out around 6pm.

Very long day, almost an epic. Lucky to have perfect weather and no wind. Car to car 11.5hrs.

Great climb, well protected and even over-bolted at some points.

Seems like climbing on double/twin ropes is the way to go, given that we barely had rope drag issues. Combined pitches 1 & 2 into one.

Pitch 7 may get pumpy, one way to save time and avoid pump is to skip some bolts and therefore climb more efficiently

Pitch 3 was the most interesting, pitch 6 the most pumpy, and pitch 8 the the most (surprisingly) fun!

Fantastic day out with perfect weather conditions. Left the carpark at 6.30am and shared a rap with two legends on the rap point past the Mirrorball rap, so we only had to take one rope. Started the climb at about 8am as the first party up.

The first three pitches are good climbing. You could link pitches 1 + 2 but there isn't much need if your transitions are quick. Next time we might simul climb pitches 4 + 5 as they are really just scrambles, but a nice break before the money pitches.

Quick bite to eat and lots of water before P6. Pitches 6 + 7 are fantastic. It is worth taking 4 or 5 longer runners for the rope up through the roof on pitch 6, otherwise the rope might drag a bit. After this, just pump yourself into climbing bliss on the endless jugs of P6+7. Fantastic wall. Then enjoy the view from the P8 belay!

Taking our time and enjoying the exposure up this one, we topped out at 11.30am.

Camped up at Pierces Pass on Saturday night so we could start the multi nice and early. A Big approach to the base of the route with a few awesome abseils. Took us a bit of time to find the starting point but found it eventually. Streamlined and sustained climbing on this route - absolutely awesome! Most of the anchor points are on ledges which makes setting up anchors easier I find. Hanging belays take a bit more time for me to set up. We probably got some of the best weather that day as well. Not too hot and we were sheltered from the sun for most of the day. The view at the summit was breathtaking. Was about 25-30 minute walk out and cracked open the traditional half bottle of wine with the fellas as soon as we got back to the car. Had the pleasure of opening a 375ml bottle of Rockford Basket Press Shiraz 2017.

Why not to do a multi-pitch on a wet day aye Jorge Packer .. hehehe Awesome route, the start of the track and the 2 rappels were really foggy and forest very wet, so we were dump wet when we got to the bottom to start the climb. First 3 pitches were fairly wet as well which added some adrenaline and challenge to the climb. Soon the sky opened up and the view was amazing. Did 7 hours car to car.

The bag was a little heavy for my partner so after the first pitch I seconded the rest with the pack. The pack was quite heavy and the hot day almost finished us both off. Overall positive experience despite the suboptimal conditions and my partner enjoyed the leads on her first BBB/pierces pass trip.

Finally this out ticked from the Bucket list. Not all clean though, will get back to it eventually.

Pitch 1, nice onsight, the "tricky moves" at the beginning felt ok - great start for the day!

Pitch 2, it was going great but then I went one step to the left and for some reason got quite hard to get back on track; not happy to say "take" on a 18 top rope)

Pitch 3, nice pitch with two minor cruxes for me. First was a slightly crimpy part to move around the arete, where I had to rest a bit (but the moves are easy, just a bit pumped already) and then just before the last quickdraw before the mantle my mental game went down and a simple move seemed too scary which led me to rest a bit on the rope and then do it - the mantle is nice though. Load of rope drag when you get to the anchor.

Pitch 4, easy scramble through the bolts (a bit run out, but nothing really tricky) - best idea ever was to get back to sneakers and give a break from my La sportiva miura.

Pitch 5, it's a bit harder then pitch 4 with a bit more "climbing" but all really easy. Loads of rope drag again.

Pitch 6, managed to do it clean on 2nd. The traverse part before the lip is the interesting part, after that it's a sea of jugs - but incredibly pumpy, if not managed well (at least on my current fitness level).

Pitch 7, another huge wall full of jugs everywhere. Really nice pumpy climb. Unfortunately halfway through my arms weren't liking me anymore and I had to do the second half in steps. Although really easy, the run outs are considerably long and the mental game start to make an effect. Not so tricky finish to the last QD, as suddenly all the lovely jugs are gone and the slopes come in; easy, but after several hours climbing/belaying, to pull 40m of rope (2x single ropes btw) aren't that easy.

Pitch 8, nothing special, just glad to be there as it marks the end of the BBB journey =). A bit run out at times, although really easy climb - but always nice to take into consideration you have already climbed 270m.

Overall, absolutely great experience and one day I will be back to do it all Clean. Thanks Jorge Packer for the day out!!

Left car at 7:05h and back to it 14:55h, only one group in front of us but they didn't really delay us in any other pitch than the first one (quick 20min)

EDIT: Although the word easy is used many times in my description, I thought it would be relevant to highlight that the combination of multiple pitches, their length, belaying(from top and bottom) and the physical's demand involved on finishing the route in a timely manner does take its toll and should be seriously taken into consideration. Also, if it's your first time doing it, maybe better to stick with a partner who has already done it as 1) it will save you plenty of time on the approach and 2) you won't be second guessing any decision and just go with the flow.

Third time, now without an epic. (first time took a long time to find the climb and finished it at night, second time started late, climbed under the 30C degrees sun from first pitch 🤦‍♂️) This time, parked the car at 7am, started climbing at 8.30 (Had to wait for another party), top of pitch 8 at 2.30pm, took the fire trail, got to the car at 3pm. Much much nicer climbing without the sun hitting you for the whole climb. We only had a bit of sun from half of pitch 7.
