This is the first area that you get to from the parking lot. It is to the right of the Desert Shield area, separated from it by a vegetated gully. Steep, juggy, low and thin higher up; 5.8+ to 5.10c

From the herd path from the parking lot, take the first climber's trail to the right (3 min from trailhead). Look for boltlines to the left of a soggy, gross chimney.

Watch out for muddy conditions in the spring and for signs indicating closure of the Main Wall or the Big Wall due to peregrin falcon nesting.
