Cool chimney… felt harder than 18 with the bulge coming out at the feet… but who knows how these things are grades.. ken nailed it!! Great fun

Freaking weird route.

Looks cool. Will hopefully be able to come back one day with enough quickdraws. Would definitely make use of the belay station at the ledge

Great climb, led up and was doing so well as I haven’t had much experience with chimmey but had to bail due to a big wet slimy patches near the end.

Made two pitches out of it. Had to bail due to the upper part of the chimney being wet and slimy.

Kirsty did amazingly and onsighted this. I thought it'd be a doddle and tried in trail shoes. This was a poor life decision.

Old school fun!

It was kinda aid- got stuck and claustraphobic and just needed to get out of there.

Solo'd the first 'pitch', and got assisted being pulled over the lip because I was worried about the sand. The chimney section... Dogged it because my feet felt like DEATH. I thought I liked chimneys, I was horribly wrong. It was the most awkward climbing I have ever done! If you like chimneys, it might be your thing, but in my case, definitely not! Average because I really can't think of what to put it under...

The full range of "route quality" ratings says as much about this old school route as can be expected. For a technical chimney with a hard grade (for a chimney) associated with it, it's absolutely brilliant (Darkside at Pierces Pass is a 14, for a comparison). Why would you get on a chimney if you don't like old-school chimneying? I hate chimneying, and I struggled with a 1m section of it, but for a CHIMNEY its absolutely brilliant!

Good old time grovel on modern gear. Would be scary without the bolts! I'm now off to the hospital for skin grafts on my knees! Wear long pants for this one!
