Ascents in Back Wall having Beta

Good holds where you need them. Consistent with the other routes at the wall.

Spoilt for options, I tried to stay right in the pale groove which kept it consistent. Clip anchor from big horn for full value.

Another new climb to help spread people out across the Back wall. Quite pleasant addition.

New additions for the punters. Also climbed via the first 3 RB of this route and the last 3 RB of Bardiche for a pleasant slightly more sustained climb.

First lead I ever attempted. Bouldery climb with a super fun move in the middle. Had a little scramble at the top and fell a little on a hand jam. Now have a little spot to remind me always of my first lead outdoors . returned recently and was still as fun as it was the first time.

Wouldn't want to be near your limit and bobble a clip with the bolt spacing...

If it's a barefoot ascent can I call it a dog-point??

Best climb at back wall

Unlikely, I'll be able to repeat this considering it goes over 5 different climbs on a very popular wall.

First time I've gotten 'lost' on a sport route too! Went towards the rap rings too early, and downclimbed to get back on track before traversing to the arete.

Jugs. Classic Macedon where the first move is hard and the rest is jugs.

The downclimb through the chimney was more fun than the climb. Bit of a one move wonder but you gotta love a faff day.

Bit strenuous for last climb of the day.

I will be back to get the redpoint soon!

Is it a free solo if you get lowered instead of downclimbing?

My Highest grade Lead ascent by 17/02/24. The experience felt so magical. Epic one hand hang getting out of the crux. .

No anchor so we continued up to the anchor on the right.

Found this quite hard. Apparently it's good to lay-back, but i did it without.

Due to the cold morning, had numb fingers climbing this (couldn't feel the holds), which made it harder.

Dynamic, awkward and pumpy. Everything we love.

Fun exposure, alright moves

Start was delicate and enjoyable, rest is ok

Runout at the top feels pretty outrageous.

Super good value at the grade, might go a little harder then 12 at the top.

Delicate crux, not terrible once you find your own beta.

Desperate.

Low crux with some good sidepull action. Sensational climbing follows with an anchor station you could nap on.

Neat little climb, don't recommend rapping from it, either walk off or get lowered. Fun boulder-like finish.

Pumped out just below the anchor. Went left over ledge and clipped to anchor from above... (don't recommend, bit sketch). I need to train more...

Second hand went left after 2nd bolt and found it to be much more like a 19. Going left using the side pulls is definitely harder.

Great warm up!

Did some progressively more intense practice falls on Skippy today, good for getting the lead climbing jitters out of the system.

Crux confused me, spent to long figuring out how to lean back without falling to find a good position... little whip.

Can do a lay-back at the crux, which felt the best way to do it. The other way is to just fall into it.

Plan was to finally open this one before the hordes arrived. Unfortunately they arrived while we were finishing our warm-up on Rising Damper. Anyway, they let us finish up and we did it quickly then left them to it. Not as exciting as Rising Damper, but something different, ... on a quiet day.
