Ascents in Fourth Breakaway

Left the anchor, hoping someone is coming back with some anchor bolts now that all the belay trees are dead.

A bit vegetated, but Fun moves, really good climb

Turned the roof easily enough but the rope had walked into the cam lobes

Been wanting to try this gem for a long time. Was dissapointed to see the nearby waterfall blowing horizontally onto and drenching the route. But then Volo got on it anyway and said it was great so I was inspired. Incredible route with the experience made all the more richer by the wet, windy conditions. Full focus and extra grunt required. Trad fix aquired.

Such a great test piece. Always lets me know where my trad head is at. Had to work hard to gain the rest under the roof but calmed down after that and then cruised the lip of the roof which was a pleasant surprise.

Had a crack at the direct start, really fingery layback. The gear was in the way. This time actually finished it up the fun original route which has bomber knee jams to the pillar.

After Volo and Soph, and then Ben, I too had to get a taste of climbing while being intermittently hosed when the wind diverted the adjacent waterfall onto the route. Refreshing! I won't say I dogged it, more like an eel. The route is great and keen to repeat when dry.

Had a brief mini tantrum after discovering my harness was ... not present. Textbook hand jams, a delightful warmup.

If you're after trad and jamming practice, this Ebor gem is it. Throw on your BD's size 1-3 and plug your way up 10m of juicy goodness.

Clearly been a while since the last ascent. I dusted off a fair bit of dry lichen and dust with each hand and foot placement which was promptly channeled up the crack and into my face and eyes by the windy westerly. Just added to the experience. Another quality Ebor route.

So good. This route is bit of an Ebor yardstick for me, so was pretty keen to see how it'd go down. Things were all going so well, plugged the rooflet and cruised under teh hanging pillar to get established in the vertical section. Thought I had plenty of juice left but got quickly pumped trying to clip my pro and was happy to have a little breather before finishing it off. Al tried the impressive undercling style variant through the rooflet and was making it look pretty good before getting a little tied up in my slings.

Start shut me down, my hand jams are solid but this was thinner and fingers / cups aren't solid at all. After Ben fought his way up I aided up as the sun set

Ben cruised this. It's a little daunting looking up into it, but jams are bomber and psyched to get through it and somehow cleaned gear mid crux without popping

Great little climb until the end and then a gross dirty scramble to the top. Crack gloves felt perfect

Didn't really pay attention to the description and just launched ourselves at this and got shut down but it's tantalizingly doable. Realized the route bridges up the right offwidth first, but the direct start is definitely doable. Another day!

Warmup, my jams are super rusty

Wow, this was challenging. I managed to get up it on my second attempt, but only just. It has a bit of everything.

Such an awesome climb. I was really stoked to get this. In the end I recalled the beta from my last efforts, slotted the key cams and really enjoyed it. Still calling it the best climb at Ebor...(for me, to date).

The grade made far more sense once we realised that the bridge was in! Spent 4 or 5 attempts at working the direct line (without the bridge) which will go at low 20's. Smaller gear needed for the start.

First climb of the day. A nice Ebor line indeed.

Another nice line. Top-out is pretty ordinary - chossy and viney.

Yeah I was rusty but this chossy dirty beast was hard going. 16. Pffft. Maybe in 1981. Good, but would be much better after some traffic.....crickets

Nice climbing with a bit of everything.

Absolutely filthy climb (in the dirty sense). Got up it clean after 1) decking and 2) breaking off a useful undercling. The face climbs much cleaner now, but fairly techy.

Beautiful jamming in bottom section

Great climbing, particularly in bottom section and through overlap. Chossy at the very top

Absolutely one of the best climbs I've done at Ebor. A bunch of medium cams needed for this one. Will have to come back and enjoy it again for the clean send.

A hard start, but once established nice climbing in the bottom section before the not-so-pretty top.

By far the best route of the day, theoretically hard but I found it the easiest. Much cleaner jamming and then cool move through the roof

Mostly onsight with a few stops to do some gardening. Face moves are nice once clean

Absolutely flailed on this one, make sure you jam kiddies.
