Missed the chance for a lead but enjoyed a couple of clean laps.

Tough bouldery crux

Tantalisingly close, three attempts on the lower half before finishing up top. Eliminated a gear stance below crux.

Lesson- properly warm up with movement specific to the route, flash pump isn't just something trad dads tell their kids about to make them eat their veggies, it's real!

A cheap lesson in expecting the unexpected and soft eyes when upsetting a big wasp nest on route. Edge of your seat stuff but miraculously survived without a sting, a modern day Daniel in the lions' den.

Pitched it out in the rain after the big man couldn't fit the squeeze, had to indignantly haul him with the z-pulley jiji.

Have you ever heard bats hunting at Frog- the sound of their outstretched wings through the air like that of a loosely tied down tarp going 100kms down the highway.

Going to the dogs, x3 arvo laps. Beams of light and rain moving together across the valley remind me of a Miyazaki film.

Top rope till the thrutch then finishing off Ari's big night effort.

A triumphant return to Frog! Jiji

Three dog laps playing around with gear and moves, I'll be half decent at lackbacking by the end of this jaja.

Got to climb this earlier, found the layback very slippy in the sun. Big dog sesh.

First lead, couldn't give it my best with a recent niggle but doggedly climbed up and up. Still refining gear and moves in crux.

Top rope just from the thing pillar to work on the bottom fingery section, one clean, couple of hang dogs working things out. Kids throwing rocks of the top to spice up the tr session.

Gerard's first 22 onsight going Erg direct, yew yew! I went for the direct start too but found myself with the long limbs laybacking with my back against the pillar jaja, what's a tall boi supposed to do?

Sussed out the starting moves and refined it over four or five rounds, really enjoyable process and sequence.

Stopped to rescue a helpless cam

The cliffs hardest offwidth? Very specific ow techniques needed and I didn't have them, especially for the section before the dogleg, too wide for leg locks too awkward body position for traditional heal toe – amazing learning to be had!

If ow was an education then i had a year 10 leaving certificate and Vemon demanded a bachelor's degree.

Apologise for the sunset grunting frogsters, mix of grit and spit and forearm cramps. Added to the cookie jar with this climb - all heart and hard fought.

Stern climbing for the grade, satisfying to get to the top this time with some help from my friends and a valley giant. Next time clean!
