Ascents in The Tubes

Easy access, lovely location, nice climbing - what's not to like?

Although these routes are still very fresh - plenty of loose stuff to rain on your belayer who'd be wise to take a couple of steps back from the wall, I did my bit to help, pulling off a fist sized hold near the bottom and a bowling ball sized one over the top of the anchor bolts.

Bummer - took a dead end instead of following the chalky hints - next time...

Thought I was home & hosed when this time I made it to the crux hold. But then there was another crux. I mean, who even does that?

Managed to fall near the bottom so I could start again.

Geez, felt a lot harder than the neighbouring 19, & I don't think it was just because I did it second. Lots of hidden footholds initially - you can't see them looking down, & have to remember or tick them.

Nice to get this at the end to complete the wall in a day. Between us we managed to pull three holds off various climbs today, belayers still need to step out of the falling debris zone. Fab wall though.

Used all my pump getting the rope up. Did the moves. Screwed up the bottom ran out of steam. Also my belayer a bit distracted with the tide rushing in to try and wash the rope away.

Feels hard for a 15, mostly just due to pump managed and a tricky start, but otherwise very fun.
