Ascents in Serpent

Just trying the start, feels doable and figured out how to get too where the second bolt will be going.

Worked out what I think will be the crux. Funky gaston above head to jump to pocket. Looking to be around 28 or so. Love it, but its hurting every part of my body.

Woohoo, heaps of progress. Linked from start of crux through to the jug at third bolt. Possibly V6 through there. Then worked out he last half, which is probably V4. Linking the two should result in a 28 I reckon, as there is no rest along the way. ACE!

Two shots. Reinforced a couple of the key holds. I feel this may be harder then I first thought, some of the hardest face climbing moves I have pulled. Probably equal difficulty with beastly behaviour at the pulpit

Frick yeah! Climbed from ground to third bolt and just missed the jug. Only 7 moves till easy ground from there. Also replaced the anchor, which was mild steel.

Good shot! Climbed to third bolt, and made move out left to small pocket but just didn't have the energy. Only 5 moves to go . Highpoint! Nate Foster tried today, and reckons it could be 29.

Fun shot! Fell off start, but managed to link from jug at the third bolt to the top! It's now done in two overlapping parts. Wasn't able to have a second shot because I have done something to my tendons in my right hand.

Two more goes. Stupid first shot, where I fell off the jug while resting at the third bolt???????? Second go I got a highpoint falling two moves below the undercling.

Two shots today. Both high points. Second shot I fell on the last hard move from the undercling!! Just didn't grab the two finger pocket right! Cool, its close!

2 shots. Both shots were excellent. First was a highpoint, as I stuck the two finger pocket at the end, but just got too excited and docked it. Second go I fell grabbing the two finger pocket, but feeling strong! Have a video of the attempt.

So exhausted today! Fell off one move under the undercling. Worked out a better foot placement for top crux though! Second shot I well off the bottom move....Exuasted.

2 shots. First time climbing in 2 weeks, after finding out I had tendonitis. My arm felt pretty good, no pain at all. First shot I fell off the move to the two finger pocket which was good, and second shot was terrible...... 17 shots so far.....

Woohoo! The longest I have spent on a route in about 3 years!! Also the hardest route I have climbed in 3 years I think. This thing has challenged me from the start, as the route was so thin and sharp that 2 shots was a maximum a day, which resulted in endless days trudging up the hill! Thanks to Terry Forbes for giving me the countless belays! (18)

I tried my best and failed. The lesson is, never try.

Went up and worked out the crux, linked it and it didnt feel too hard. Has a crazy one arm swing/dyno thingy. I think its a good route.

2 more shots. Almost linked into the gatekeeper. Went to the top today, this route is really bouldery and great.

Awesome!! Heaps hard and pumpy. Nice side pull moves, I think this is a great addition. (5).

I really like this line! I went for the onsight, but fell on the first move. Wasn't expecting it to be so hard!! The crux at the 4th bolt is wild, and super thin. I could only have one shot as my tips were so sore. Worked everything out....just..

2 shots with Mr Foster. First shot went through first crux cleanly, but pumped out placing the draws before second crux. Second shot I fell on the second bump on the crux, just before the jug, so that was good too! Refined some beta and went from below the crux to the anchor clean. Now just need to beat this flu and tick this sucka! (2)

Possibly second ascent? Burly boulder problem, with some tiny, tiny holds. Was able to pull down hard first shot yesterday and get this thing done. (4)

Three burns. Sustained. Feels possible with more power endurance. Lots of fun working this line.

4 x attempts. Managed to climb through both cruxes on the last one, but pumped out and made a mistake at the end. So much fun trying this route. I shall pass eventually!

Took 9 attempts over 3 sessions and enjoyed every bit of it. Great route!

Sweet line! Sent the lower boulder problem to the ledge first go (stoked with myself!) Then after a rest hanging on the 3rd bolt proceeded to clip 4th and 5th in one push where 2nd crux stopped me again for a bit. Figured it out but not sure I could get it done in one sustained push just yet. The upper sections crimps are golden when you find them!

Second shot, climbed way better on the onsight attempt. Climbed averagely but held it together. Surprisingly pumpy

Neat!!!! Hoping this goes down soon. Such wicked moves.

Had two burns Had two falls at the Gaston dead point and then working out the mantel move after the traverse

Ended up finding better foot beta for the Gaston dead point
