Ascents in Serpent having Beta

Good shot! Climbed to third bolt, and made move out left to small pocket but just didn't have the energy. Only 5 moves to go . Highpoint! Nate Foster tried today, and reckons it could be 29.

Linked with pitch one. Two bolts in 16 metres, above a ledge, makes this pretty exciting! Could do with a shuffle of bolts, and perhaps a third bolt too.

Frick yeah! Climbed from ground to third bolt and just missed the jug. Only 7 moves till easy ground from there. Also replaced the anchor, which was mild steel.

Warm up.

Two shots. Reinforced a couple of the key holds. I feel this may be harder then I first thought, some of the hardest face climbing moves I have pulled. Probably equal difficulty with beastly behaviour at the pulpit

A good lead, really fun crimps and worth a go. Be careful up to the first bolt, some crumbly rock.

Felt tricky for a 17, but really fun for the grade. It would be a tough lead for someone just starting to climb at that grade so be careful.

First shot today. Could be 25, but keeping in line with the feel of the cliff its getting 24. Also, I can't climb 25 in my present state. Awesome route, just need to keep pumping to the top. (3)

Two shots. Both shots were destroyed by rain, as I couldnt hold the clipping hold after the crux as it was wet. Probably 24. Next time.

To get to project anchor out right. Good fun. Now has a U bolt to stickclip at the start.

Woohoo, heaps of progress. Linked from start of crux through to the jug at third bolt. Possibly V6 through there. Then worked out he last half, which is probably V4. Linking the two should result in a 28 I reckon, as there is no rest along the way. ACE!

Warm up. Nice and cool today.

Pretty unmemorable. You would not want to fall though.

Another lap just to do it clean, did not get a chance to lead it again.

Seemed hard, probably a bit shaken after the previous route. Missed the 3rd bolt!

Embarrassing but I took a big fall trying to clip the 4th bolt on my first attempt. Ended up very close to the ground with my belayer 3m up in the air. Probably should have used the huge jug just above the bolt not the tiny crimp below it...

slug technique was used, grace was not. fun and interesting climb, glad to get this one clean

Ground Fall while clipping first bolt... all good! recommend stickclip. Rest of the route was fun

A few tries, but couldn't clip the anchor clean. Don't clean by lowering, that was dumb! Though everybody else probably knows that...

Arguably not a flash. I dogged the first part of this route once, 8 maybe 10 years ago. Got it this time, first shot, putting the draws on. Desperate fight, not knowing where to go, holds were full of leaves, hurt my back really bad. Great route, loved it. w/Sister Matt.
