20 | ★★★ Chasm creek to deep glen bay - with danny wade, alex wylie | 1000m | ★★★ Mega Classic | Sun 26th Jan 2020
Highly caffeinated and parked at the sign for cape surville walk. We head down a road then into the scrub loosely following chasm creek eventually descended into the creek (10 m static rope helped here but we maybe have gone a harder way ) then slid down a large log where we were greeted by Walter the seal who was pissed to be woken up. Then the climbing began! Rock quality is average to start then turns to dolerite some short swims required, passing some beautiful features, caves, a remarkably large arch & a waterfall (recommend drinking here ) some amazing unbroken sections of climbing superb rock,the swims get longer the further you get but nothing longer than 30m.
The rock is really varied at some point it turns to granite then even some short sections of limestone at the end ! It was a relief to arrive at deep glen bay, we were quite exhausted by that point.(I personally was abit dehydrated) it should be noted that this traverse is very serious and committing, definitely recommend bringing a PLB, wet suits were very nice to have & so was 10m of static rope, especially when your mate does some silly shit and gets sucked into a kelp filled chimney of doom.
Grade wise it was on average 14-17 but some sections were about 20 mostly deepwater, but it’s definitely a choose your own adventure if it gets too hard or sketchy you just go swimming. I wouldn’t do this In anything but perfect conditions.
All up it’s my favourite adventure I’ve done in tassie !!!
We started at 8.00am & got to deep glen around 6.00pm *it was very nice having some supply’s dropped at deep glen bay.

Bad conditions, sussed the moves. Gear looks extremely run out through the first roof. Fortunately there's plenty of space to fall into! Not sure if I can pull the roof, the first overlap looks at least V6.
|
||||||||
26 | ★ Etherium | 40m | ★ Good | Thu 17th Mar 2022
Stoked to get back on this after a year! Good working session, likely needs a bolt under the first roof and another in the flakes above the second roof. Would be extremely bold on gear, the hardest moves are poorly protected with a very dangerous fall.

23 | ★★ Ethereal | 25m | ★★ Very Good | Tue 22nd Dec 2020
Flowy and exposed with a lot of variety of movement. Had an epic putting this up, technical 22 climbing that feels like 23 with the exposure and heady crux.

20 M1 22 | ★ Chocolate Brownie (Chocolate Browine) | 25m | Average | Mon 5th Jan 2015
Good feature climbing from the 2nd bolt up, that will clean up nicely with traffic. The position is wild at the end of the platform, and the first move takes you straight out over the raging void. The direct start to the 2nd bolt is a V3 boulder problem. This can be done at 20M1 by pulling on the first draw until it's at your waist, or climbing up and traversing in from 1.5m left. Really, the 1st bolt needs to be moved left for this to be 20. It also needs a belay bolt.

23 22 | ★ Chocolate Brownie | 25m | ★ Good | Wed 23rd Dec 2020
I rated this! Should definitely get 23 for that start, felt V3 or 4 at least.

Compared to the section from chasm creek to deep glen it’s not as good, it’s physically easier but feels more serious and committing. A truly amazing tassie adventure
