Derby is a town in the north east of tasmania best know for its world class mountain bike trails. |
Cascade River
The rocky river that many people ride on next to the 5 ways. Has so much more potential (200+ routes) for boulders, trad, and maybe even some DWS. The river is about 1.2km long from the dam to 5 ways. |

Tin Mine Entrance
It isn't known if there is a mine up the hill somewhere but there is a via ferrata up a slab most likely built by some tin miners to get up the slab while carrying mining equipment. |

★★ Mining Stairs
Really easy walk up 45° metal stair things. no need for rope as is really easy. It is unknown who set it but it is assumed it was used for tin mining. It's unknown how strong the metal is but it doesn't matter much because of the easy angle of the wall. |

A tall wall on the right side of the river. Spotter recommended. has some hard projects, feel free to put up problems. |

A cool outcrop of boulders. Some are too tall to boulder on so there's potential for Trad/Toprope routes here. Still many more boulder/Trad routes to be developed here. |

Stand start to the left of the arete. Climb the thin arete without the wall to the left. Top out to finish. |

Stand start on the right of the arete. Climb up through crimp rails and laybacking the arete. Topout to finish. |

start same as Bubble bath but divert right and climb up the crimpy face holds. |

A classic crack traverse. Stand start at the far left of the crack, hands holding the first two slots and a foot on the good foothold. Traverse/campus right through crimpy, slopey and juggy slots with barely any feet outside the crack. Finish matching the far right slot. Optional project toping out. FA up for grabs. |
Derby Trout Hole
The trout rock "trout hole" is an area behind the famous painted trout rock in derby. It has potential for many new boulders. With cracks, off widths and slabby granite boulders. |

★ The Sunshine Way
Sit start on layback with good feet. Shuffle your hands up the layback and throw for the larger layback. Climb up the larger layback with precise foot placement then reach out right to the diagonal rail and match to finish. This climb hasn't been topped yet so FA is up for grabs. Climb is v3 if you stand start. |

Stand Start on juggy layback then climb up about 2m and finish right hand on obvious "bubble" and left hand on arete. |

★ Cheetos Inya Chalk
Start low laybacking the arete with a good foot. magic your way up the arete and finish matching the small juggy ledge. FA up for grabs. |

★★★ Slab fullphilment
Start om the right side bottom corner of the slab standing on the smaller boulder. Get your first foot on the broken flake edge and continue to the left side with small feet and crimpy holds untill the edge of the boulder where you can easliy shuffle up to the top left corner knob to finish the climb. Feet should stay on the face not over the left edge until the climb is complete. |
