Ascents of Breakfast Cookie

Thinking this might be as soft a 5.10b as "Hakuna-Matata" is a 5.10a (looks to be put up by same person?), I took a shot at leading it. After struggling a bit at and above the 2nd bolt (including a good fall), I backed off. Dropped a TR, but failed on TR, too. Definitely harder than 5.10b, dunno how much harder.

Solid,. grade may, in my opinion, be open for debate.

Second attempt. Still can't pull the crux, which the other folks I was climbing with that day confirm goes a lot harder than 10b (though the rest of the climb might well be 10bish. But that key bit to get on the ramp just under the roof is - according to the others - at least 10d.

Took three or so falls, but got all the moves this time. Cold rock made it a bit harder to stick the really small sharp crimp at one point, but it should go with a couple more tries.

A little more thought needed getting onto the ramp but not too slack a grade at least for my climbing style

Another try at getting it clean, another failure to get it clean. I'll have to come back and work it a bit more, then think about leading it.

Awkward clipping positions. Someone needs to brush the over chalked holds between the second and third bolts.

Sent on second attempt, thinking the breakfast cookie from Neat Café helped fuel the push over the crux!

Miss read the crux and lost my onsite by moving up with the wrong hand. Too pumped to back off into a rest to try again and slipped off.

What can I say. Sweet, flowing climb with a nice burly mid section followed by some balancey technical moves. With proper beta it just went.

Fought though some crazy Elvis leg and foot slip kicking me into a one arm hang, but nailed the red point!

2 falls. Better than I expected.

Didn't expect to successfully lead it when I set out. Took a hang after I z-clipped at 2nd bolt, then one fall after fixing the z-clip.

Didn't expect to red point it when I headed up, but surprised myself by getting it clean.

One fall.

No fall, but multiple rests on rope.

So out of shape... have red-pointed this, and today massive hang-dog.

Was a bit awkward trying to get around the bulges.

Finally got on this after wanting to for almost a year. Cruised to the 3rd bolt, then was shut down on the overhang. Probably shouldn't have made this the last climb of the day. I will return!

Remembered this climb being sustained, but it was harder than I remembered. Had to rest before going over the second bulge. Still good though.

Proper 10B, not soft like most in the area.

Got stuck at the second bolt early last year. Found it way more fun this year

Shoulder started twinging, so lowered off.
