Ascents in The Coliseum

#FA Each crux a little harder than the last, culminating in a heartbreak three finger razor crimp at the bitter end. Felt considerably harder than Superpod, and took a good number of days to sort out in generally great conditions. Quite proud to be the one to climb this legendary project!

Totally desperate (!!) crimp boulder after the most lovely 8a ever. Low in the grade. 4 tries.

3rd ascent, 2nd after break. three days in all.

Damn. A complete masterpiece. The rumors are true!! Same day as Super Pod. So psyched on the New right now!

End of day excursion, not enough gas for another Apollo shot but got bolt to bolt, with some good linkage

2 shots, highpoint on the first, the last three bolts of this route are insanely bouldery. Feeling mm away from doing the crux statically, need to stretch more

2 more shots, good linkage but still getting foiled at the crux

2 shots, crux beta change front on and low percentage boulder move, but it's the only way forward at the moment

30 people in the coliseum today. crazy! queue too long for Apollo so made do with the pod. still cant do crux.

3 shots, sorted the tricksy crux on the 3rd. Pumpy endurance gold!

3 more shots, equalling highpoint on the 2nd & 3rd, feeling tired but I think I need to tweek the top crux beta to make it a little simpler, hopefully pay dividends

Was hoping today was the day but several holds were either wet or pasty from the rain. 4 shots high pointing on the 2nd.

all moves clean bolt to bolt.

3 shots. having problems with my knee at the heel hook

so close! got a high point even though the conditions were super bad. wet pasty holds and the crux hold at the top was filled with water. yep, that's where I came off! 3 shots. fixed the knee tweaking issue by jamming my toe

Not a bad haul for the afternoon. Some really unique movements and holds, fun and physical.

Many people like this climb, I personally think it is crap, which is exactly what you have to go through to start the climb (lots and lots of bird crap!)
