Ascents of Future Tense

Inspired by the dawgs ascent, fuckin sick route. Would have been cool to go ground up on but I'd seconded a few times already so I sussed the gear on rap.

Makes you feel like a sexy vertical wizard… Perfect sunset send with friends cheering me on, great movement in a excellent position. It will be hard to top this.

After climbing through BST I felt like a real hot mess. Tips were super sweaty and conditions felt horrible. Somehow made it all the way to the top but it felt really desperate even though I think I climbed it as perfectly as it could be climbed. Felt totally limit today but I believe in good conditions it wouldn’t be too bad at 25. Definitely the best route I’ve climbed on the trip. Rock, position, MOVES! And gear is all super good enough to feel great but spicy enough to keep it interesting at the crux

Placed a super bomb nut two metres below the crux and just went for it. Got to finger locky layback bit and had no beans left to give. With no Hope of fiddling in gear i pealed off and took a decent winger. Proceeded to the top and went back down off some good gear to get the crux moves dialled. Should go in the morning! Perfect climbing and perfect position! Doesn’t get any better

First shot today after one last weekend, limited climb/gear beta made it a bit interesting at the top. Stoked.

Onsight to crux, took some working out.

Played with the moves and gear in my approachies while rapping in to set up a TR solo line. All seems hard but doable (easily said when not on lead 😅).

It was insanely hot for early morning and I was cooked out of Frog by 7am so didn't have time for a proper lap.

I reckon I did all the moves, but a few were zero gravity thanks to being pulled up on top rope 😅

Dayumm what a banger. A (dare I say) better and longer version of impulse. Beautiful movement. The only downside is that the handcrack start of BST is dangerously cracked to the point of flexing when you jam in it.

2nd go after an onsight attempt 18 months ago. Fantastic position out on the face, though its probably only 25 imo.

Tape came off the hole in my finger, making a couple finger locks impossible. The way it’s climbed these days, it’s definitely no harder than other 25s like carrion comfort or voices

Jumped at the opportunity to sample this while Ryan took send burns. Techy, powerful face climbing on good holds at 22/23ish until that final sequence really ramps it up. Feels out there and classy.

Amazing route! I can imagine if one climbs the direct start it being 26..

Gorgeous climbing! Took a few goes to get through the crux.

Was really happy to finally get this. First shot of the day and then almost blew it on the easy stuff after the crux with a foot slip. Loosing bucket loads of fat definitely makes the moves easier.

Felt confident on this one! Potential climb for higher grades in the future! Straight forward and less crack climb which suits my style better!

Cool to revisit this. Got pumped silly on second! I feel like once you have beta dialled, the moves in themselves aren't any harder than other 25s here at Frog. Solid onsight burn by Dan Cox! So good to watch. You'll get it next time mate.

Biggest climbing fight of my life. Literally shaking with a mixture of fatigue and adrenaline in the final scramble. Got overscared through the crux, thinking that my last two wires were crap and scared of the potential screaming whipper awaiting me. Turns out the top wire was ok.

Beautiful moves, clean wall, great gear, pumped arms, dry mouth, sore lungs. Sorry for the noise pollution. Epic.

What a pleasure to belay Alex on this insane OS. What a battle! What a result! Plenty of digging deep, loads of emotions and buckets of volume. Personally felt alright on this myself considering. Fantastic moves; I don’t know how this doesn’t have 3 stars! With a little work, this thing could well go - another time.

Nowhere near an onsight, some good climbing. A worthy project.

I fluffed the onsight when I couldn't get the gear I wanted at the crux. The gear below was stonka and I should have just gone for it!....but wasn't feeling it. After I sat on the rope I placed some more stonka gear halfway through the crux and then left it in for the pink point. 26 is pretty generous - especially with all the gear in.

Lovely climbing on the top wall, if you start up BST this feels like 24/5. I did TR the original start, which is quite hard but sadly not that great and has some dodgy rock.

Technical climbing with lots of layaways and the odd poor jam or lock and a goey exit of crimpers and gastons. Seems pretty soft for 26 though.

Ahhh So nice... Fell at small crack and the crux...

Fell less than 1m from the anchor seconding Duncan, could have done better!
