Ascents of Epic Journey as Red point

Goal today was to climb past the 3rd piece... But there was so much friction compared to last week I just kept pushing to the top😅😎

worked it on top rope to sort out the gear after hearing stories of cams ripping out. moves are still hard and i really had to think hard for good beta. Marty took an awesome whip on the black cam on the crux. Glad that held! awesome route

Had a go on top rope then got it first redpoint shot

I think I have been on this before, but as part of the linkup so I guess would not be an onsight. Sent it in the full sun and felt like I was slipping out on nearly every move. Great technical climbing

Did some moves when lowering off the link up, so no onsight. But first lead try, so really stoked!

The impressive part was Rachael’s top rope flash of this

Just epic! Went surprisingly smoothly albeit some unwanted leg shaking. Moves flowed from the ground to the anchor.

6 TRS laps to dial in the beta, then absolutely flowed up it without any issues. almost too easy, no pump and didn't feel scary. maybe red pointing is a tactic i should use more often

4th tie in (2 for beta, 2 red point attempts) and first of the grade 🎉

In my head this was going to be a project for a few weeks, not for two mornings… guess it’s time to start another proj!😁

Incredible climbing, great protection and a delicate feet. What more could you want? Second shot.

I would have worm my rash vest if i knew how wet the holds would be. Not a great option in the direct sun.

Climbed this so Dad could watch me climb as he missed the BCT send haha. Felt really comfortable. So many tasty nuts!

Sent first go of the day, I had a crack on it a couple months before hand

Had TR on my first visit to Frog and thought it easy for grade, probably due to little crack climbing. Today, placing the gear it felt quite goey.

Good gear, great climbing, lovely route.

Best Climb at the crag I have done so far! Amazing moves, a tad balancy and beautiful moves. I first did this on top rope thinking it was way above my pay grade but when I flashed it had a couple of days to re-think and build up some courage to lead it and nailed it!

End of the day, felt epic, wasn't pretty, hung on and still got it clean.

Used gear theat Ross had placed in the lower section....bad Bill!

followed susy g. last time i did this the jug was a sloper! pleasantly surprised!

With Ben. Yahoo! What a flowing climb. You waltz from one side to the other. And there is so much GREAT gear to choose from. 20 August with Pete. Worked it during the week, then got it on Saturday on pre-placed gear. Climbed it as well as I've ever climbed anything, which felt fantastic. Redpoint next.16 Aug 04 with Cate. Seconded with one rest, then lowered and toproped clean.

3/7/05: warm up TR. 9/3/03: [3/3] First attempt was 07/2001 (several falls). Second attempt fell from about 2m up. Two pieces were in place on the successful lead.
