Ascents of Jenny Craig Moonarie Summer Camp, Activity One; The Endless Pitch

Been saving this for a while, glad i stuck the onsight! Certainly felt endless hahaha, thought the original 24 felt pretty right, mega regardless!

An absolute must do. Will be back to lead this next time

Amazing climb. Very stoked to get this one. 24 in the book and thought this was my first 24 send on gear at the time so sticking with that hehehe

Left a couple of bits of gear in the easy climbing in the crack before joining the route proper from the previous attempt

A devastatingly close ground up onsight attempt. It continues to haunt me a week later. Literally experiencing grief. Dropped it on the shield at the top. What a potato. But that's onsight climbing. Truly extraordinary route

Truly onsighting this was a highlight, tricky precise crux then lots and lots of techy climbing questing up the wall. Decent gear all the way up. A voyage.

Had another lap on this. Still fantastic

Fantastic, long and engaging. Crux is the seam then it backs off to about 22 for the rest of the route. Incredible climb but definitely overshadowed by Durban earlier in the trip

Made it 80% of the way up before it started to dump rain on us. Bailed and rapped in to get the anchor gear the next day while climbing miles from nowhere. Didn't feel like any stopper moves and the gear is pretty reasonable.

2nd shot. Bungled the onsight high up (after the hardest climbing) when I totally misread a sequence (trying to use a footer as a hand-hold). With no chalk, and kinda dirty (first lap of the season?) it was a bit of an epic, but it was my onsight to bungle . Brilliant face climbing and surprisingly well protected, with 3 or 4 tough sequences amidst the epic 50m journey. Could really be done safely with no bolts, and the bolted "direct" start (which people clip the bolts on to protect the scary opening moves leaving the corner onto the face) could totally be called a retro-bolt, by making the boldest part now bolt protected. I refused to clip them on principle, and just committed to the fall-potential.

Holy cow! This climb probably rates second only to the Totem Pole in terms of quality of climbing that I've experienced. Jumped on lead to start with and took a nice lob about half way up the first hard crack section. Lowered down and watched Chris shit his pants dogging all the way to the top. On second I managed to link through to the second bolt. I reckon I can get this one. Next time.

Went for the onsight... then went for a fall Dogged my way up. I was gripped! Not knowing where and what the next gear would be like, and watching my rack slowly dwindle. I think this is a 24.... and a long and hard sustained one. Up there with the best pitches I've ever done. I'll be back! Take loads of cams #2 and smaller
