Ascents as sport by Hala Sattouf

Yay finally! Got it 3rd shot today. Bolt to bolt to warm up, high point under the roof and stupidly slipped off, then finally ticked it.

First go today yay! Even though the start holds were wet & it was very hot.

3 laps on lead & 1 on top rope to clean. Did all the moves & strung together a few more sequences. Just need more endurance.

Did the start moves first shot & all the moves, but still a fair way off from stringing them together.

Did all the moves but Freaked out at the rooflette with the heel hook. Need to work on my heel hooks and stay calmer pulling over the rooflette.

Linked the final 3 clips in the steepness which is a first. Need to stay low on the sequence below the roof to not cram into the roof. Chill out on the slab start.

Steep burly start recommend sticking clipping the first bolt Cool reach left to surprise jug Was too cooked to lead it will try next time

All very feasible except for one move, big reach to small crimp or bumping off some average intermediates. Need to work on core & crimp strength. Try again next time.

Got it on the 3rd attempt. JUST!

Pulled on the silver jug once, loads of rests, a classy climb to project.

Another project. Got to the 3rd bolt first go. A bit tricky to finish though.

Nice layback start. Fun seated rest. Tricky finish grabbed the second last draw due to desperate crimps in hot weather. Final slopers to clip final draws was also thoughtful. Will tick it next time!

Good lead by Steph. Very pumpy very nice climb. Will have to come back and try it on lead. Agree placing extra gear seems like a bit of waste of precious energy.

Tricky start. Dont forget to use the crimp out left before slapping up to jug. Crimpy thoughtful finish. Took a good fall up top. Tick clean next time!

Fun mantles

Ticked it in the dark! Tricky start, easy middle, tricky finish.

A bit soft for 20

Lead the lay back pitch 2 with a few rests. Would like to go again & do it clean. Would like to lead the funky beak pitch 3 too.

Finally took a fall. The slab & final two bolts was scary.

A few tricky spots especially the start. Nice climb. A bit dirty though.

Surprisingly difficult out of the second cave. Bump up the pinch with the left hand.

Past

Very exciting. The start would be so much easier if I just knew how to jam!

nice moves. Would definitely deserve more stars if it wasn’t for the dirt.

Althsimers on-site. Did this climb many years ago. I think.

Yay my first tick at south central! Got it second go.

Finally!!!

Still struggle with the last move. Need to stay calm, stand up on the high right foot to reach right slopey crimp & clip of the good left crimp. Will try and lead it next time.
