Ascents in Southern Ocean Wall as Onsight

Very cruisey climbing with good pro the whole way.

Thoroughly enjoyable climbing.

No swell, some rain/nightfall

Had no swell so got to start nice and low

First route at WCH, lead send. Big jump from the beginners wall at Willyabrup Cruisy climbing, intimidating exposure.

Nice bridging moves all the way.

Abseiled to one of the small ledges below Carousel and then traversed right and up into Chocolate Drop.

Interesting. was so hot in the sun!

Ledge is small in the middle! Good fun. Tom almost got hit by a wave 😜

Great Fun has the lot and best done 1 pitch for a bit of pump

Lots of exposure. Didn't feel as hard as a 17, especially compared to some 15s like Carousel.

First trad lead since fall in April 18

Think this is the route up the wall right of Orion, with one carrot bolt level with its belay.

My first climb at WCH

A gentle start to calm the nerves.

Great climbing. Cool moves.

Not as good as the original!

Start of first pitch was run-out. Small cams helped. Some nice easy moves in the chimney at the start, after that a bit dull.

Beautiful rock. Great gear. Gentle moves. What's not to like. Maybe a little harder than 12.

Easy, probably 14, not worth two stars in my opinion. Protection is a little marginal for the 10m or so, small gear helps.
