Ascents in Echo Crag having Beta

Probably only 1 grade harder than Touchstone RHF.

Awesome pitch! So well worth it to get up there. Very much like a Bluey's face climb.

Face climbing on thin holds. The crux zone is protected by 2 bolts.

Seemed way harder then i remember. Climbed far, far better on the OS attempt.

Thin balancy climbing that is over to quickly. First climb of the day and I was climbing so badly!

Finished up this, Dave doing a long 60 m lead from ground. Quite thin for a couple of moves

Good rock, but humidity and flies and inability to reach between horizontals led to a slight mcdougalling at the start. Felt really slippery.

Last route of the day. As the shade drifted across. Great face climbing and well protected up to the 2 bolts and thin finish. Great route.

Mega face! seems like the logical finish to touchstone

had to rest with just 1 move to go! Pretty much a sport climb for the parts that matter.

Finally got around to this. Chalk-free, found myself reaching for the missing chalk-bag a few times but my jacket being blown up around my ears provided suitable distraction.

I am pretty sure I belayed the FA of this a decade ago and declined to do it due to skin and reach. I was obviously more sensible back then. Everything today felt quite spoogy. This took a few more goes than it should have for the first 4 metres. I just kept sliding off the hold at the end of the crux next to the wire placement. It’s really a direct start to Psalm 69

Very delicate movements that somehow feel more secure than you think they should.

Beautiful experience route reading with such freedom over a huge rock face. Found a nice rhythm and executed the balancy moves near the top with confidence and joy.

Seconded The Cliffmeister up this. Did it clean. Got two left fingers JUST on at the end hard move, almost came off but Cliff shouting ‘Stick it! Stick it!’ helped me keep on and finish it. Cool cool ending to the fiddoddle which is the lower half.

The logical and best finish to a very enjoyable wall. Came off on the last move then climbed to top 2nd go. Holds get smaller until they all but disappear for the cruxy exit.

Saw some bolts while doing the second pitch of touchstone and thought ‘fuck it, why not’

Quite a nice climb, but no real challenges. Susan & I did it early morn. with the intention of doing the 16 as well (Nativity), but by the time we had stumbled our way down the path back to square 1, it was 11:30 & getting way too hot, so we opted for a siesta & Mari later on. I lead P2. Lost a third of my station when a block fell off, but the other two were bomber.

Good climbing, deserves more attention.
