Third shot on this. Sorted out the ground boulder, tried Gwen's beta with knee bar but although it makes the reach easier for pinkie lock, the footwork becomes sub optimal for the next move. Back to my original beta with low feet pinkie lock is now solid 80%. Also fell off at top crux unexpectedly. Hopefully this is going down next shot.

Top crux now sorted, not using the mono which I use for gear. Mid crux goes RH pinkie lock no tape.

Had great aspiration of flashing this but got shut down just looking at Brendan struggling at the crux. Did boulder problem ok, lost lot of energy trying the crux with the advertised beta LH thumb down and worked out my own way with RH pinkie lock second try. The ensuing moments through the remaining parts of the crux will remained etched in my memory. Then I got totally puzzled by the other crux above, I was very far from reaching the crack above the flat hold, I had to aid this move I have no idea how to get through this one. The rest was easy.

Got shut down hard, and my injured knuckles couldn’t take the beating to figure out the crux.

Sort of figured out the start again, then tore a gaping hole in my finger pulling into the crux. Man I have bad luck on this route.

Figured out the last move that I still had to do and then went from the jug below the crux to the top which was cool. Soon soon soon.

Managed to sort out the reachy top crux move in between rain showers. Much easier to figure out when you aren't taking a big whip every time. Psyched!

What a king line! Worked out that one has exactly 6.5 seconds in the finger lock before it slides out.

Attempted ground up. Definitely out of my comfort zone. Slipped out of the wet initial boulder and that was that. Then climbed from the ground to the crux (placing gear) and fell on the crux, unsurprisingly. Took some effort to unlock the crux move. Then to top, placing gear with a couple of rests. Was en route for well over an hour.

Send attempt - fell on the crux, came down.

Hard climb is hard. Made some progress on the main crux and suffered on the opening boulder. Conveniently removed some pieces from a few key holds that I had accidentally left in. This route is the coolest.

4 more laps. I've now fallen from the final move of the crux on link (after the hardest moves), pulled back on and climbed clean from the below the crux to the top. This could go any time now. Game on, Pit fighter.

2 Laps. Progress continues, but struggling with my damaged fingers (from Sundays efforts on this route), and my torn-up fingers not fitting in the crux jam when taped. I've now linked to the 2nd move of the crux cleanly, and from the 1st move of the crux to the top cleanly... Now just to link through the 5-move boulder problem! The key to further progress will be attempting this route when my fingers are healed so I don't need the tape.

2 more long working laps. From the start to the crux is going great, and the top is dialled (I stuck the whole sequence as a warmup), I just need to link that crux! Had a breakthrough on one of the crux moves that was giving me trouble, and settled on the beta for the rest of the crux. Now to start going for the true redpoint shots (when my bloodied fingers and hands have healed).

3 x Tie-ins working the route. I've managed to link to the crux from the ground, and from the end of the crux to the top (though not easily, the "upper crux' is punchy!), and I've gotten the all the moves of the crux sorted as "smaller links". But I definitely need to get the 3 main moves of the crux more dialled to have any chance. Great gear for almost the entire route, with the one exception of the section after the opening boulder-problem to the big horizontal (gear seems to be very average through here). Radical, powerful, brutish climbing which cut my body to ribbons. I can't wait to get back on it now that I've got it sussed. Unlike most hard trad routes, this one actually involves real jamming through the hardest moves.

Top Rope Solo. 2 laps sussing this mega crack. Sustained at about gr25 (and quite intense, with steep, powerful moves and spaced gear), but with a 4 move boulder problem crux to earn it the grade. The crux is crack-bouldering at 30 degrees+ overhang, and is both extremely sharp and a finger destroyer... but funky and in my vein of bouldering. With some more laps, and a bit of time on the woody training the angle, I think I could tick this... Brilliant!
