Ciaran sent one of my quickdraws flying into the abyss, only for it to be greeted with a log off of a gum tree that spiralled down next to us at the first belay. Lots of back cleaning for rope drag meant i was confidently bricking it on the traverse. Blueies white whale ticked!

As one pitch with an 80M and several rebelays. Dogged the fuck out of the first pitch but did the rest relatively clean, however had to go in hard to undo rebelay knots Felt like Tom cruise at the start of mission impossible 2 but probably looked more like strodel from top rope tough guys Way too scared to do the dyno on tr solo, need to watch some hownot2 videos so I know the microtraxes won’t explode or slip off the rope

Clip all the bolts heading down during the second and third abseils (towards "Point A" from the book, beginning of the first pitch). Otherwise you will end up floating in space. Exposed climb, Randy Rabbit feels like a walk in the park. Used 25 quickdraws. Started climbing around 12pm and the route stayed in the shade the whole time. Perfect conditions for a very hot/warm day.

Had an interesting time abseiling in, used a fixed 70m to avoid multiple raps. Not sure if this is good beta though as we managed to core shot the rope 💀 Second pitch is the money! Keen to get back to the wall and try some of the other routes.

That 1st pitch traverse is the hardest 22 I've done in my life 😫 Took two falls/rests due to pump and then blew a hand hold just before the end which resulted in a scary traverse swing. I led the 23 pitch. Excellent line with many crux sections. I found it quite pumpy and sustained, needing a couple of takes, plus a couple of falls. After playing around and figuring out the best beta for me, I feel reasonably confident I could now red point.

If pump wasnt a thing this pitch would be a 21. Unfortunately however, it is a thing and it has a remarkable affinity for populating in my forearms. Yim tim and jim (jack/me) set off to not repeat the plethora of day ending errors marty and i made last time. Error 1, 1st rappel rope stuck: almost happened again, needed a double person tug to free it. Error 2, dead air trap on rappel 2: almost happened again, just swung into a bolt, not quite sure how i could have done this cleaner tbh. Error 3, lost on pitch 1. Yim seemed to have no trouble finding the way. I must have been on drugs in february. We did almost cock up by getting a stopper knot stuck in dead air at the bottom, luckily it got trapped to the wall by the anchor. That would have fucked us royally. 2 ropes does lend some insurance in this way. This sport multi proves itself again to be a logistics heavy operation. The traverse pitch dished out a draw grab for me and an unlikely epic for tim who almost took a pendulum off the p1 anchor. Ask yim to send the video! (pretty dog). I was abit nervous about the big pitch but technically it wasnt hard, just managing the pump is quite tricky. Putting attention into creative rests tested my patience and ultimately i resigned myself to 2 or 3 sits. Tim pulled onto the ledge next, visibly delirious, claiming "fuck 25s at ben trovonia tomorrow". Yim still somehow had energy to do 10 pull ups off a flake on the top out pitch (wtf).

So good, a mega adventure that just keeps going and going. First pitch - do you cram yourself in, go above or under? Choose your own adventure, all are scary and unique. Second pitch just incredible - ended up doing a lot of hangdogging after wasting energy on some of the lower cruxes, but had a blast.

Bloody intimidating to rap into this one. Extremely overhung, you need to clip most of the draws to stay in. First anchor was higher than expected, so i passed it and had to faff back up. Freed everything except a few wet sections up top which i aided to avoid the wet rock. Not an ideal rope solo really

"We came here to do this multi" lie parties that came here to do subliminal and bailed. Marty and I birthed the idea at dinner the night before, scrounging together 11 additional draws at 9:30 and then remembering we hadnt organised transport to the crag at 10:30. Marty slammed some brekky as an afterthought and then luckily we were handed elos car keys. This meant our original plan of getting the train and hitchhiking to sublime point was made redundant. We rocketted off to the crag right in time for peak sun on the subliminal face and got a rope stuck on the first pitch. Will and chris had just finished sweet dreams and came to the rescue. 2nd rap i didnt kick off the ledge and ended up suspended in dead air, resulting in a 10 minute swinging session to reattach to the wall. We finally located the start of subliminal. Climbed up 3 bolts from the anchor instead of 1 and traversed across the wrong ledge. Certainly explains the 8m runouts. After about an hour of marty cooking on hang belay and me prancing around on ledges, horribly protected, we decided to seek refuge in the cave above on castaway for lunch to review our decision to climb subliminal. The review was conducted and completed in 1 second. Pretty nice and varied climbing all the way up, gr 20s were pretty hectic marty and i bith indulging in some beaner-pulling on lead and second. Marty is still in denial about the fact that he technically led a trad pitch with 2 tree slings on the gr 5 exit pitch. Really enjoyed the opportunity to do some horizontal climbing and refine the technique, particularly around resting efficiently. A great and very ridiculous day out!!

Some days you are the sender, and some days you are the pack mule. P2 was not a great seconding experience when close to my limit and such a long pitch. Got probably irrationally worried about a ledge the rope was running over halfway up and unwilling to fall on it, so did a lot of resting onto bolts and fiddling around until I was sure I could climb without falling. P1 is fun if you don't look back, and prepare some more-than-20 footwork for the start. I'd like to lead P2, but maybe with a walky talky so I can ask 'have you got me?' before every hard move as usual 🤣

Lovely lovely wall route, though maybe more 23 than 24. The first pitch is fun and cryptic and was a proper chalkless onsight, second pitch is pretty cool but felt nails at 18, I linked pitch one into this. I found pitch three kinda ugly but it was an inoffensive way to exit. Great to do some climbing with Haz again. Can thoroughly recommend this part of the world as a respite from the westerlies and lovely climbing on lovely rock.

One of the better offerings at 25 around. The flash pump was kinda real for the warm up but managed to battle through and there are plenty of jugs to recover on. Harry's chalk was pretty key to the flash, I doubt I would have onsighted it. Maybe 24 after the two dynos at the start?

Seconding the traverse pitch was seriously "engaging". I was literally hanging on for dear life, visualizing a horrendous swinging fall each time I unclipped a draw and was then faced with another lot of slippery, slopey awkward holds. I led P2 and I agree that it's really great quality climbing. I won't bore you with my list of excuses, but I found it hard and scary. I got mega pumped and had to rest a few times. We watched a thunderstorm drop a torrent of rain between us and Mt Solitary while we climbed and I prayed that we wouldn't get a similar soaking before we got to the top. I'm keen to go back and try to master this route.

Extremely epic. Would highly recommend clipping draws on the abseil above you as you go down so that you don’t end up hanging in space... the person coming down second can simply remove them on the way down, and you can pull them into the anchors to rethread. I got stuck hanging and that sucked but managed to whip the tail of the rope around a rock and pull myself back into the rock. Stiff move just after the first belay. Second pitch felt heroically long. Heaps fun in the end!

Lead pitch 2. Pitch 1 starts with a burly crimp traverse that felt pretty staunch for grade 20, then some exciting walking across a footledge for 15m. Pitch 2 has 40m of some of the awesomest rock and face climbing (and mantling) in the Blueys, then a 20m string of jug hauls and mantels between comfy belay caves (sans anchors). At last you arrive at a huge belay ledge from which you can't even see your half deaf climbing partner.

What an incredible climb, the rap in alone was amazing and exposed. Went to belay B, tricky to rap to here. Climb was in the shade from like 10am, so got cold at belays. The climb itself was great, lots of jugs, ledges and fun movement. Got very pumped over gripping holds and had rests on the rope a few times. It would be good to go back and do it again, very memorable climbing and location. Ended up using 28 draws from belay B.

Pretty happy to get the onsight in horrible, hot conditions. There was a storm moving overhead and the humidity and lack of wind were disgusting! Great climb, will gladly do it again. Climbed from the belay for Sojourn/Sabbatical/Castaway, as i had planned to try one of the harder routes but it was far too hot and sweaty and instead of doing the silly long traverse pitch.

Only did the 3rd pitch of this route - it was great btw- after my abseil device pinged down into the valley below. Lost control because our 60m rope didn't quite reach the anchors (about 1m short) - and I failed to secure it! Strongly suggest putting in an extender on the chains from top abseil anchors if using a 60m rope - even a 120cm sling would have made a difference.

What a beautiful route! The slight overhang makes for a very pumpy climb but there are some good rests every now and then, just keep motoring. Hardest moves are probably the short traverse off the first belay, but theres a couple of hard moves lower down on the second pitch. Much more crimpy face climbing than i was expecting.
