Ascents of Lactictoc

One of the best experiences I've ever had on rock. While the juggy climbing on the overhang is really fun, the bottom slab is what really gives this route its characters imo.

Wowza what a line. Freezer Friday didn't disappoint. Only ones at the crag, many entertaining scenes

Alzheimer’s onsight, and it went down super easy. It was my first ever attempt at a 26 onsight back in the day, so it’s good to see progress.

Couple of sneaky jambs made a difference in there too

Lots of beta progress today, but no good high point. Can see it coming together though, so I am keen to return.

Warm up - Just up to the upper crux (2nd last bolt) where I jumped off. Makes for an awesome warmup that way. Damn this one's a good'un.

Two shots got all the moves now I just have to put it all together

Flash ended when my pump-o-meter went from 0 to 100 after transitioning to the overhang. What a stellar climb, very excited to come back and try to hang on for the wild ride all the way to the top!

Wowowow haven't been this inspired to come back for a climb for quite some time! Soooo good

one try, got the moves. super nice climbing. first day of climbing at Bluies and still was intimidating. got to the top. the bouldery start was so much fun.

Fun and pupmy! The start and the slab is hard and tricky for the grade!

Repeat attempt -not clean today. Didn't know my beta at the crux, but after falling figured it out immediately and went through without too much trouble.

This is just a genuinely great route, that I don't mind chucking repeat laps on.

Got up the draws and second shot. Beautiful climbing with rests.

Wasted too much time procrastinating on the lower jugs. This route is a good lesson in the difference between efficient vs excessive resting

It's been 28 years since I was last on this and the bouldery start was nails. The slab was OK apart from the retarded position of the 4th ring. Got as far as the flake at 3/4 height then ran out of juice. Such amazing climbing.

Amazing climbing. Though this is a bit above my paygrade and I didn't make it to the top, I did find a couple of those bolt placements pretty rough if you're not over 6 feet tall. Why the 4th is where it is, I don't quite understand. BUT, wow, nonetheless.

Awesome to finally try this route, definitely lives up to the hype. The slab section isn't too bad if you trust your feet but the pump still sets in at the top

Very glad I didn't have to put up the draws (thanks Ben Hanley), having a few extended helps enormously
