So so hard. Got massively shut down! Roof crack was sick, but turning the lip seems utterly impossible until I’m wayyyyyy better. The top was really insecure and tricky too! A spooge nightmare

Last go before I had to leave Tassie. Unfortunately I was not well rested enough to give it the beans at the layback, and ended up desperately plugging in a cam to save myself a massive whip.

Really enjoyed this. Other than pulling up on the first bolt (as per the guidebook), this climb was just so exciting and hard. Came unstuck in the layback/crack at the top. Rack beta: I recommend a single rack of cams up to BD #3 including micro cams, an extra BD 0.4 and #3 cam, and a single rack of small wires to protect the otherwise unprotected move to obtain the second ledge. I found it easier to put the big cams on my right.

delicate climbing leads to a left traverse that was every bit as heinous as I thought it might be from the ground. Ended up aiding through the traverse to the rest of the climb. Protection between the ledge and the crack above was poor. The crack above that was very nice; not sure if it's better to jam or lay it back. I recommend taking two racks of small wires as well as two racks of cams up to #3. A single rack of cams may work at a stretch.

Wore my new Metolius crack gloves on this climb and I fell off the crack section a few metres above the start. The gloves threw off the confidence in my jams and I ended up popping a cam on my fall. This shook me enough to make a retreat.

Ended up down climbing and cleaning the route, nearly fell while doing so and it completely killed my psych for the day

Usually I sport climb every crack I get on, so you'd think I'd make light work of the underclingy sequence. But for whatever reasons this day I decided to go for a spoogey fingerlock instead of climbing the very chalked up underclings, fingerlock slipped out and there went any hope of onsighting this.

Made the top extra spooky by trying to save all my brassies, resulting in a 5m runout before the 5m runout. With only a red (tiny) DMM brass offset in between. Next time will for sure place all the other available brassies placements leading up to the red one

One toprope lap to try the mantle and the top moves. Then pulled the crux easily first try on lead. Through the top corner, I had not worked out gear and had really tough time fiddling with RPs and microcams in the middle. On the last hard move, the hand foot layback match on the good crimp I slipped off from well above my 00 Dragonfly. It held and then so did the rope in the roof crack. Pulled back on after aiding back to where I fell and climbed to the top. Didn't have it in me mentally to give it another crack this trip. The route probably deserves 25.

Awesome climb. However, be cautious of rock pinching in the crack. I whipped on a wild country superlight (rated for 4kn) and the wire snapped, likely because pinching of the rope caused a really hard catch.

Maybe my 12th session on this. Decided i wanted to get to the tope so i aided through the crux on a 000 then a few more aid moves, until my rope got stuck in the crack at the lip. Went down cleaned the over hang to get mag belay out of the way of the crack, then basically soloed to the top? Aid/hangdog/lead/toprope? Anyway had me scared and sweaty.

I found myself being slightly munched by this route. I started up it in light drizzle and absolutely fought my way to about the 10m mark, struggling to find any good jams in the soapy crack. Here, with bomber pro beneath me I shoved in a tiny cam and climbed on. All of a sudden both hands slipped straight out of the crack and down I fell, ripping and positively mangling the first cam, which was at about my waist, (sorry Rob) and, in a moment of extreme misfortune, managed to unclip the carabiner on the piece below me from the cam sling itself. This was enough to see me pile driving into the ground from 10m up, landing spectacularly on my head and bouncing into some pointy rocks. After checking I could move and waiting till my vision came back, I drank some water, vomited a lot, walked back to the campsite (vomiting along the way and when I got there). Then dad and I got a lift to the visitors centre where everyone promptly freaked out, told me I was not to move, put me in a neck brace and sent me via no less than three ambulances to the Royal Hobart hospital. Here I was made a priority as everyone wanted to see the kid that fell from 10m and was fine but, after a bunch of ultrasounds and other tests I was told to go home. Pretty solid adventure for an easy day out climbing and I think I'm lucky to be left with two minor bruises, a small concussion and a shallow cut to the head. Super rad route though, very keen to get back on it!!
