Ascents of 666 The Beast

I found this to be super fun route. Would be a 3 star classic for me if it wasn't for the loose stuff low down and the rather excitable protection further up. A number 5 would be awesome for the bottom of the flake but I wouldn't be placing it any higher. Used a 3, a 0.3 and a 0.75 in that order in the pockets/horizontals for the top. The gear up high is probably bomber but doesn't look particularly inspiring. Having said that the moves are pretty tame for the grade. The approach from ground level is one long no-fall zone.

The flake is fun for a few moves.. but you wouldn't want to take a fall with a cam behind it! The whole thing is a bit dodgy..

Great rock. But too short.

Intimidating flake but it goes nicely with protection in the pockets.
