Ascents in Nursery Cliffs

We treated this as a three pitch multi, for training purposes. The "third pitch" is definitely the crux and harder, I thought, than grade 14, even when done as a second.

Some thought provoking movement at the top out

Take your gardening tools, especially a big spade - or a flame thrower! Gear opportunities are good but might require a bit of imagination. Worth a grade higher than 14. At the top, hot, exhausted, panting for breath, and as dry as the Simpson Desert, I was approached by a charming young man named Frederico from Argentina, who offered me a can of lemonade!   It came like a gift from Heaven.

Another good beginner lead. top out or traverse to anchor of climb 12. not much else to it, just go to the main cliffs for better climbing

For a beginner route I would have thought there would be more protection opportunities.

Teaching Dan multi-pitch skills

First time in QLD, discovered pretty quick Nursery is not that great but was closest to car ;-) . Pretty dusty and overgrown and trad placements not great. Headed to Main cliffs pretty quick. LibbyLiability lead and cleaned.

Grade is about right, but it was awkward, with marginal gear.

Best climb for first time leaders at KP. DBB halfway up which is great for practicing tying in, or even honing your multi-pitching skills in an extremely safe environment. aside from that the climbing is pretty average. unless your an absolute beginner, just go to the real cliffs.
