Ascents in Octopuses Garden

Dogged attempting to figure out the moves. Hard move coming off the ledge with a burly but fun boulder problem across the upper face

Belayer's attempt after Kenny's first go of the day. Actually climbed pretty well, but right foot slipped a bit while clipping the last bolt. Managed to get it in, but had lost a lot of body tension and had a sit. Pulled back on and did the moves to the jug round the lip but didn't stick it and lowered off.

Send! Managed to bag the second ascent straight after Kenny's FA. Climbed well, stayed tight in the crux and that was it. Great route, though it's comically short. Feels like a V4 on a rope. [2]

Nice technical roof climb with some foot tom foolery and a bouldery exit to the head wall. Great line, back jump to clean.

Missed the jug over the lip on onsight attempt. Got it second shot. Nice crux boulder and the top is no giveaway. Although it looks a little contrived the line is obvious when you are climbing it. I think this will settle at grade 25 unless your a shortie. (2)

Good climbing with a punchy crux, but the fall onto the third bolt was a dicey pendulum... not keen to get back on without that bolt being shifted to the right to keep the fall nicer, unless I was just doing the wrong beta of course. Ended up skipping the rock over to the jug using a Kong Panic, then bumbled my way to the anchors. Didn't think much of the finish, but the crux is a quality boulder and the route is surprisingly steep.

Second shot after figuring out the sequence. Short and bouldery, which caters to my strengths.

Great position and satisfying moves, though cleaning the draws sucked.

Third shot. Excellent roped bouldering.

Chossy at the bottom, then onto a cleaner headwall. Large hold broke off the start when my gf went to top rope it after me. She doesn't weigh much.

Broke a hold gaining the first ledge, got onto it again and it doesnt seem any harder but I still have to work out the next few moves.

Wicked line! Fell at chains twice.

Crux is definitely the clip!

Awesome. Suuuper nice climbing. Worked beta first shot had a good rest and it came together. Beautiful little route.

Took me a few burns to figure out the beta but once I did the line flowed nicely. A few non-intuitive moves, and otherwise fairly easy and straightforward.

Second shot. Cool line.

Attempted flash burn was probably the best. Silly beta stuff ups on all other attempts. Will easy go next session

Onsight attempt ended at the second crux. Got suckered into bad tick marks and only just made it to the jug below the fourth; by that time I had the lactic glasses on and couldn't see where I was meant to be going. Sat there, then worked out the rest pretty easily.

Just enough in the tank to pull through. Had to climb fast though. Great punchy climbing! I really rate this and Waterline. Thanks Ross! [2]

Didn't pull anything off, though some of the holds looked suspect. A fun line that rambles in the first half and felt soft to me.

Good climbing I enjoyed it. Well done Kenny to have the vision of this line. 👊 possibly only 22!?
